Malcolm Merlyn Posted December 19, 2016 Author Posted December 19, 2016 I am resting him. He is too Phaasht for neighbours. Naah.Enough rest till february. He can break a few heads after that.
Forever Indian Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 (edited) My lineup for Bangles would be: Vijay Rahul Pujara Kohli Nair Saha Ashwin Jayant Jadeja Shami Bhuvi/Umesh Edited December 19, 2016 by Forever Indian Sidhoni 1
Malcolm Merlyn Posted December 19, 2016 Author Posted December 19, 2016 Saha why the hell Saha? WC2011INDIA 1

Umesh bowls too many dot balls. I want dot balls and wickets both and win the game comprehensively. Bhuvi is going to take fifer in that game and then we are going to roll over them. I am tired of their talk since India-Bangla world cup 2015 game. They have gone crazy. They haven't learnt any lesson since that last ball Dhoni run out earlier this year. We need to HUMBLE them big time in that test match. I say bat first and put on 800 runs.
express bowling Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 I will use the Bangladesh test to try out a few new players without weakening our core team 1) Rahul 2) Vijay 3) Pujara 4) Kohli 5) Nair 6) Pant 7) Ashwin 8) Jadeja 9) Kuldeep 10) Shardul 11) Aaron / Nathu ( whoever is fit )
mishra Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 LOL! Whole team put together struggled to score 300 when we visited England. 300 or 700+ in Indian conditions doesn't mean our batsmen wont struggle again Rasgulla 1

Make a pitch to take Ashwin out of equation and this solid batting line will start cranking by the end of first test match. Rasgulla 1
gattaca Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 (edited) I am happy this puts rohit sharma out India test match squad. He is too inconsistent. Edited December 19, 2016 by gattaca
chewy Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Good selection conundrum also pressure back on Pujara too
tweaker Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Also what about Jayant ,whohas a 100 in his last inning

Austin 3:!6 Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Next test match will be against Bangladesh. Considering they have few decent spinners (definitely better than Eng) we need batsman who plays spin well. Nair seems to be a better player of spin than Rahane...so I would drop Rahane for Bangla test. Will bring him back against Australia though as he is more equipped to handle Starc & co. My test team for Bangla game: Murali Vijay Lokesh Rahul Che Pujara Virat Kohli Karun Nair Parthiv Patel Ravi Ashwin Jayant Yadav Ravi Jadeja Mohammed Shami Umesh Yadav / Ishant Sharma tweaker 1
Soorma_Bhopali Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Pragyan Ojha took 10-fer in his last test in Mumbai 2013 (Sachin's farewell test) and still left out of touring party for SA tour . Karun has definitely upstaged Rohit Sharma for the test team but would have to sit out once Rahane becomes available. tweaker 1

BeautifulGame Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 For now Karun Nair deserves to keep his spot regardless of whereas Rahane or Rohit is fit . I would go with 6 batsmen against Bangladesh to see how to goes . Vijay Rahul Pujara Kohli Rahane Nair Pant Ashwin Jadeja Shami Bhuvi/ Yadav / Ishant But if we want to play 5 bowlers then , Rahane had to sit on the sidelines for the time being . Anyway with our regular fitness crisis one of this lot will get injured anyway and will make the arguement redundant . Just happy this means no more Rohit torcher in test cricket .Just hope selectors see the same way.
Forever Indian Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Nair's real test will come overseas. He went missing in India A's tour of Australia A recently averaging 9.5. Any talks of permanently replacing Rahane in tests are extremely premature untill he can prove he is a bigger match winner overseas. Almost anyone we play in the XI will score at home, but if we are to be worthy of no. 1 we need to identify players who score for us overseas Soorma_Bhopali, express bowling and tweaker 3
