I am resting Vijay for Bangladesh game to see how and what's the deal with Rishab Pant. Pant isn't an opener. No keeper opens in tests.

Yoda-esque Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Good on Karun, but in all fairness..he will be exposed on bouncy pitches.

BeautifulGame Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Pappu does and did well too Couple of 60s on Indian pitches doesn't mean much in larger context though . Even yesterday ,he got out to a tired shot when 100 was for the taking .You simpy can't really afford something like that from your openers .

He has 2 centuries this series and has been our one of our best bats overseas as well. Ticz mind works one way. If from naarth of vindhyas (esp dilli punjb), some extended support like for gambhir or amit mishra. Else easy suggestions to drop. Wayz of cricketicz @Cricketics Edited December 19, 2016 by fineleg
maniac Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 How do you also a drop a player who averaged 80+ in his last series or a Player who has got 100's in every condition? eastwood 1
vijay50 Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 For Next tour of Aus/ NZ / Eng/ SA Vijay Rahul/ Dhawan... Pujara/ Rahul Kohli Rahane Karun Parthiv/ Saha/ Naman Ojha Ashwin/ Jadeja/ leg spinner/ Jayant Shami Umesh/ Bhuvi/ Ishant Another upcoming fast bowler. If Karun fails, readjust with Rahul or upcoming left handed batsmen. Karun should atleast deserve to play 10 tests based in his performance today to let him settle down.
fineleg Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 (edited) We need a squad of 18 given injury problems. Build the squad of 18 and automatic rotation will happen due to form and injury, and Away tour skills. Edited December 19, 2016 by fineleg
Malcolm Merlyn Posted December 19, 2016 Author Posted December 19, 2016 Good on Karun, but in all fairness..he will be exposed on bouncy pitches. The reason for that being?
vvvslaxman Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 In one dayers we did drop Manoj Tiwary right ? after a 100? don't recall. Also did the same to Kaif though i don't regret that.
BeautifulGame Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Yeah Tiwary was dropped straight after scoring 100 . Can't remember doing it with Kaif.
bowl_out Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 The best thing is to build a pool of 8-10 batsmen and rotate, so no one burns out

Your back up batsmen need to be considered looking at the future, not the past.. Only Mukund and Pant qualify from your list.. Maybe Samson, no one else... With Rohit and Dhawan being shaky in Tests, I'd replace them with Mukund, Samson and Pant over time... so we have a pool of 10 batsmen from which we play 6-7 every tour.. play 5 out of the 7 in the XI... so no one's place in taken for granted, and no one burns out Edited December 19, 2016 by bowl_out
Ankit_sharma03 Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Cant drop Nair, seeing how frequently rahul n vijay have been getting injured for an year now i feel their injuries will give Nair more time. If not well the tough call might come down to Nair vs Jayant ( in which case Nair can come ahead as we would be needing him in overseas more than Jayant. So giving Nair Exp of test cricket might come in Handy. Nair can also bowl a few over and if being encouraged he could work on it more.) Cant drop Rahane and shouldnt even , he is in diff class and has scored runs everywhere may be not with consistency but he will keep getting better. In all fairness this competition can be really good news for Indian cricket. As all of them will try to bring more value to team. Rahane brings in as slip fielder, Nair will have to try to bowl more overs to fill the void of 5th bowler in some scenarios.
Vilander Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Rahane and Rohit career over.. Lol karun 300 does it. WC2011INDIA 1

NEVER for a long time - RAHANE- PUJARA - KOHLI. I am going to give them a long rope, regardless of how many times they fail in the next 10 games. They have done enough after the fab 4/5 retired.
