CG Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Icc awards consider from aug to aug so indian players performances against nz,eng might not have counted.
kosingh Posted December 22, 2016 Author Posted December 22, 2016 Ashwin ICC Cricketer of the year CG 1
BeautifulGame Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 ICC is a joke .Why pick year between September to September when picking awards for the year. Why cant they just pick these awards in January and have the selection year Jan -dec mancalledsting, SUMO and Vilander 3
BlueBee Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Lol The test team is mostly English with a few Firangis. Surprised how Smith or Kohli don't get into the 11. Sent from my MotoG3-TE using Tapatalk

kosingh Posted December 22, 2016 Author Posted December 22, 2016 Happy for Ashwin, but the entire process just seems like not much thought went into these awards mancalledsting 1

putrevus Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Well deserved award for Ashwin, he and Kohli should be contenders again for next year. Ashwin if does well against Aussies should be first player since Ponting to win this award twice in a row. express bowling 1
SUMO Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 ashwin has already overtaken his last year perfomance in sep to sep bracket... since 21 sep 2016, in 8 matches he has : 55 wic at 24avg, 377 runs at 37avg 8 more matches to go before next sept... only one who can catch him is jadeja in runs and wickets (ali/stokes are behind) cant see any fast bowler matching even his bowling stats kohli/root/smith can challenge for test cricketer of the year but sir garfield sobers trophy is ashwin's next year also
Vilander Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 icc wants to pretend that Eng are the best in tests.
mancalledsting Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) England have invested a lot into test match cricket and is the only board that has prioritised it from day one...if we don't recognise their achievements, it could discourage them. I know test cricket is undergoing a revival in India under kohli, but whilst we were busy prancing around in IPL etc these guys were holding it down for the most important and enjoyable format of the game Edited December 22, 2016 by mancalledsting GoldenSun 1
