When one of 'yours' does that, and is the first one to do so, he'll always be special. People forget that SL were worse than Bangladesh unil mid-1990s. And SL fans may not like to admit it, but SL umpires outshone Pakistan in the home umpiring business. That takes some serious doing. @Mahaa Raavana How you been buddy :)

Sean Bradley Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 (edited) De Silva was a gutsy player, i have seen him hit one of the most amazing shots ever in my lifetime of watching cricket, he flicked a brett lee short ball aimed at rib cage for a six over deep square leg, that requires superlative talent, even Sachin rated desilva highly. Most times his shots to get dismissed would be inexplicable brain farts. Towards the end he got some consistency into his game at least in how to encash on flat SC wickets and get big scores even though he had lost a lot of that hand-eye coordination that made him a dasher in the beginning of his career. I remember that whenever he used to come to bat with his helmet's strap falling and hanging out, that son of a Lankan always used to score big against us. I just hoped everytime he come to bat his helmet strap was not hanging. It used to annoy the hell out of me as a kid. rahulrulezz 1
