adi B Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Trundler word is used accordingly.if Bhuvi is getting hammered he'll be called a trundler because of this perception of him bowling under 135 k (which might be true) ,if he's bowling well with the use of his brain ,he'll be called a skillful bowler.it depends on the psyche of the fans sandeep 1

He bowls over 130+ and has all the tools. I request the Mods to ban anyone who uses trundler in the context while referring to Bhuvi. I m a Bhuvi critic. Still hats off to his intelligent bowling yesterday. Bhuvi has brains.

I have faced bowlers at Cross maiden who state they bowl at 125 to 130k and play for clubs. They look fast to me but wud not be fast to international batters
Stuge Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 So you want to call Tortoise a hare ? How is that technically even possible :Xd Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
Texan Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 According to Cricinfo's article on cricketing terminology, a trundler is a: Quote Slow, laborious type of bowler who thinks he's quick, once was quick, or is simply old, fat and unfit and needs to be put out to pasture. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/story/239756.html Bhuvi isn't a slow, laborious type of bowler who thinks he is quick. He is rather a bowler who is capable of out-thinking a batsman and makes maximum use of his skills. He is neither old, fat or unfit. Cricketics 1

I actually feel with his skills he can be a better bowler than both Shami and Bumrah in LOI's. For that though, he needs to just play a lot more games at big stage. There is no better practice for a bowler than a match practice. He won't get better just sittting out and bowling in the nets. Hopefully we will see him bowl regularly now in LOI's. sandeep 1

At least he can keep things tight at one end while the real strike bowlers try to get wickets. New guy 1

Surprisingly the stats did not come into picture when talking about tests this year when Yadav averages 50 and Bhuvi 15. Or even overall stats. The speed demon is beyond all stats then. Are Umesh fans really trying to pretend they care about stats because when test stats were being thrown out to compare them, they were talking about things like "impact" which Umesh brings or how pitches matter, etc, etc Edited January 21, 2017 by New guy Texan, beetle and Sidhoni 3
Silva Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 In the ipl he bowled consectutive yorkers to Sarfaraz khan i think and he got taken to the cleaners because he was too predictable. in the matches after that he bowled more slower deliveries and wide yorkers maybe because he saw how effective Mustafiz was with them. I think he has become a better death overs bowler after that. sandeep 1
speedheat Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I will and always call him trundler if he do go back to his old speeds but good thing is that he has improved a lot seen him bowling 144k in IPL with accuracy
gattaca Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Consistency is missing again. Did well last match. But this match he didn't do well. Seeing bounce yadav might have been useful. It all hindsight now but we don't have all tracks bowler except may be shami because he can set up batsman now.
Laaloo Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 This guy still can't pick wickets. He's useless when he doesn't bowl economically. express bowling 1

Yadav is useless on any track in any limited overs match in any condition. Over the last 10 years, he has a worse economy rate than any other bowler, even worse than Bangladesh bowlers, and is the only bowler to have an economy rate over 6. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=2;filter=advanced;orderby=economy_rate;orderbyad=reverse;qualmin1=2000;qualval1=balls;spanmax2=17+Jan+2017;spanmin1=01+Jan+2007;spanval1=span;spanval2=span;template=results;type=bowling sandeep 1

He probably has the worst average for an Indian pacer who has played more than 50 ODIs.

He was wicket taking earlier when he swung the ball. Of late, he has lost his wicket taking ability. If we have a better bowler, then I don't have an issue in dropping BK either, but Yadav is not the solution.
