Ashwin or Jadeja in ODIs?

Finally R. Ashwin does a decent bowling - picking crucial wickets of Stokes, Buttler (both big hitters), and Root (dangerous batting machine).

Needs to continue this. If only ONE spinner - in ENG conditions - is it Jadeja or Ashwin?

Obviously Jaddu. Jaddu a great fielder, more reliable, can chip in with few runs also his running between the wickets will be more handy if he bats with a top order .

If one, it has to be Jaddu.  But we have to play both to have any chance of winning.  We are lucky that Pandya has come by at the right time - gives us a chance to play both.

Jadeja has played a game changer role just with his fielding many times. For that alone he needs to be in the side. Raina also was such a useful player bringing in lot of energy. Wish he had better batting form.

Jadeja as he is a utility cricketer and almost always controls the run rate. Mishra is a good choice for second spinner. He hasn't done anything wrong, even in the series against SA where every one got slaughtered, he did pretty well. At-least give the guy a chance to fail.

Seriously some Indian have memory of a monkey.  We are no less than Pakistani fans. 1 Afridi innings and he is better than Sachin ..Just cuz Jadeja did better than Ashwin in last two matches, he is better??

after playing 127 Odis, Jadeja scored only one match winning 50. All his other 50s were selfish innings where he batted for himself. We make fun of afridi but guy did way better as a batsman than this Jadeja. Ashwin is a better all rounder than Jadeja IMO.

Pitches will be flat in England, we will play both of them.both are good in different aspect of bowling.if one has to be dropped,it'll be based on the no of lefties/righties in the opposition side and there current outings.

Personally I'll pick ashwin over jaddu only slightly,because of his ability to pick the most important wkts at the right time

As I said he is just a better than the decent parttimer...Yes No2 test spinner in the world which is the greatest mystery ever.

 

His bowling can cost us games on his bad day. His plan B in ODI or T20 cricket when being hit is to dart faster and faster.

Jadeja is averaging 40+ with SR of 100 in last 2 years. That's good enough.
