Kuldeep Yadav has to play all 5 tests against England

Recommended Posts

How's his batting? We will go a bit light on the batting front with only 5 specialist bats, hence will rely a LOT on lower order runs. I am 100% backing Kuldeep to play all 4 tests in Aus (Ash/Jaddu won't work there at all) but Eng, not sure. He isn't some Warne or Murali the way he is hyped up on this forum, most of his exploits have come in white ball cricket.

There is a merit to his selection.  You cannot see him off like you do against finger spinners especially on a slightly turning track. But Ashwin did not do that badly in SA. But for drops he would have picked 7 wickets in the test.  If not all 5, they could try him in case Ashwin flunks in first two.

More like 7 in the 1st innings, that performance had a 10fer written all over it.

If Ashwin is dropped even Kohli, Dhawan and Pujara shouldn't play...it's only fair that way.

ashwin can play after first 2 test matches ....but kuldeep will have to start.....we need to find out ,if kuldeep can offer something more than ashwn.

sometimes ,in team u are dropped not for bad performances but ur replacement can offer much more than u.....ashwin will remain india's test spinner....but we need to try out wrist-spinner on non-helping pitches.

He will be canned there. Has no control, not a big turner of the ball and too slow for those slow non-turning pitches.

He has pretty good control. Hardly bowls rank bad balls.

He turns the ball more than Ash and Jaddu.

His USP is he can pitch the ball at the same spot (around off stump) with similar action/pace and the ball can turn either way.

Yes, he probably has to work on his pace for different pitches.

what? both bring the ball back in to righties.  For righties, we need a right arm leg spinner. Chinamen is off spin for righties.

Wrist spinners can turn it both ways, finger spinners can't.

Anyway it's not just about bringing the ball in or away to righties. It's about individual bowler's strengths too.

Ash's record against left handers is far far better than right handers. Kuldeep probably has more balanced record against lefties and righties.
