This is one of the worst defeat ever. Had it been against a better Pakistan team it would have less embarrassing.

So gentlemen pour out your frustration. With no cuss words?. :p:

Whom do you blame for defeat? Curse him respectfully. :phehe:

N.B: Pakistan deserves credit to play superbly today and outclass India with determination and aggressive outlook. This is not intended to take credit away from them.

True that

this is a absolute SHYTE Pakistani batting line up

still cant believe they scored 300 plus

and India could be < 100 all out

  1. Team Selection  -   Picking both Jadeja / Ashwin ?   Sitting out Umesh / Shami ....
  2. Virat's choice to field first
  3. Negative Captaincy - horrible body language -  No aggression against a Brand new Pak opener ?  Are you playing a ICC Final or a warm up match against the new player to let him settle in ?
  4. Did not bowl Yuvi / Jadhav
  5. Ashwin  bowling full 10 overs or secret pics of Virat and Anushka to be released to the media ?

Its ok guys, you have been amazing...i felt for you though.

You guys played well today. Nothing to take credit away from Pakistan. But even you know this Pakistan team is not that good especially batting. Babar,Shoaib and Azhar Ali are the only proper batsmen.

It is disappointing to see the likes of Shami and Yadav not playing. We need to get rid of all the oldies and the failures, as long as they remain, Kohli's judgement will also be clouded.

Gutted not just because we lost in a final, not just because it was Pakistan but the fact that we have to learn from Pakistan as to how to blood fresh legs and young players in.

Disagree. We are doing the right thing by bringing in youngsters gradually.

Yes, we need to be a touch more aggressive in this effort. This defeat is just a one off. But, there are questions that remain off Yuvi and MSD.

The stage was perfectly set for Pak to pull off an upset but I didn't think the margin of defeat would be this huge. I hope the selectors learn their lesson from this defeat and start investing in youth.

There I agree. But the fact that we are bringing in Pant and Kuldeep for the WI tour is a step in the right direction.

But again, it seems half hearted. That is why I said we need to be more aggressive.

That was one off too. Who expected SL to chase that down?

Completely agree man. Our current failed cricketers turned selectors are only interested in having players who are past icons but current failures. High time we realized we need young blokes like Pant, Krunal in the team.

I had a bad feeling when Ashwin was selected, so I was split screen watching hockey with this match, so I'm not in a bad mood.

However, I am very disappointed in Kohli's captaincy today. Everything from selection to defensive strategy/tactics. This may be a knee-jerk reaction, but I am starting to see what people who say he is too emotional to be captain mean. You can't let your emotions bring the whole team down and then also let it affect your batting. I'd be willing to give Kohli more time as captain, but he needs to work on his on field demeanor.

The main thing that irks me is that we still have the negative bowling mindset of economy rates, run restriction etc. How hard is it to understand that taking wickets will by itself lower the opponents score, while not taking wickets will for sure give them a high score. We aren't smarter than everyone else in the cricket world where our bizzaro strategy will win us games. Every champion side favors wicket-taking over run-saving, but, no we seem to think we are smarter than everyone else when it comes to bowling.

The padosis picked:

Amir averages 1.48 wickets per ODI

Khan averages  1.52 wickets per ODI

We have two bazookas left sitting on the bench

Shami averages 1.85 wickets per ODI

Umesh averages 1.42 wickets per ODI

For all the talk about aggressive captaincy and new strategies from Kohli and Kumble, we get the same defensive field placings and run-restricting bowler selections. There is no point in bashing Dhoni and Duncan Fletcher when their replacements do the same thing.

Kohli has no judgement , he's been made to look good by Dhoni advicing him.  Without Dhoni , Kohli's captaincy can be seen in his role at RCB
