The disaster which this really isn't

I'm sorry this was a disaster... people were disgusted in the stadium for lack of fight and total capitulation... Neutrals were disappointed that a final ended like that. Some other team could've given a better fight.

Don't believe on score board pressure on that match... the pitch was flat one and there was no condition to support pace bowling... spinners too have struggled...

If you are a lefty and start getting LBW to leg spinners on pitches like this, time for you to retire...

Starting to think we are delusional and arrogant . Too much we did not win trophy so disaster and mass changes needed lol

look tweaking of things needed and that always the case . But we got dammn good side and dammn good performances . Yes one game went wrong but you don't base on one game

main thing is now plan for World Cup . Which means obviously yuvraj and dhoni out and get in young talents who play now will be ready for wc2019

If that had happened at least for the Windies tour people wouldn't be so pissed off.

Tragedy and disaster describes everything else has been happening in London recently (Grenfell fire, this morning's van attack to name but two). India lost a cricket match. It happens. No one died at the Oval yesterday.

Congratulations to Pakistan. Played the best cricket when it mattered, similar to 1992 World Cup.

Where did I mention knee jerk reaction? I think you quoted the wrong guy.

No I quoted the right guy...let me check just to make sure...you feel this tournament was a success and we should celebrate?

This was an unmitigated disaster. We went into tournaments as favourites, pounded Pakistan earlier, lost against a weak SL, failed to learn from the semi where Ashwin was toothless and was still selected for the final and were almost handed the finals on a platter by winning the toss. This loss will hurt for a long time and only a commensurate win against Pak at a knockout stage in a WC/CT/WT20 can avenge this. Nothing else.

Make no mistake. This is a big goof up. If India were the inferior team, no one would have given rat's ass. But India is the best team out there and we lost because of our poor selections, strategies, and captaincy. That makes this the worst tournament India has had in years. No one bothered about 2015 WC because Australia were dominant and Indian loss was not quite unexpected. But how can you lose to a piss poor team who slogged their way through the tournament? That makes it all the more disastrous. India certainly needs to reinvent itself. This over reliance on top 3 where the non performers go unnoticed, etc needs to change. There is a bigger disaster waiting to happen in 2019. If India takes this as a wake up call, good. Otherwise, more humiliation awaits us.

Add to that a captain who seems pretty happy with the result .....a bloody diaster it was.

Beetle don't you think we are over estimating by blaming someone that he was happy with the result just by seeing a clip of his where he is smiling with with opposition players?

You want him to cry a river right after the loss for next 24 hours?

Everyone is different in nature and them playing as a player are no different. I am sure its hurting them too including Virat, doesn't mean they can not laugh after a game or have to roam around with a sad or  normal face every time.

Sad that some respected posters behaving in such silly fashion to suggest kohli did not give every ounce of himself to win and was not upset we lost . Just cos he managed  to display a chivalry type attitude once game was lost

he controlled his emotions well in defeat . The same posters who beat him up for being too emotional now criticise him for being in control lol

This was immediatly after the match.

Before they even boarded the bus for the hotel. How does one lose by such a big margin in the final against the arch rival in an icc event and laugh like it was some charity match.

Hell...he showed more passion when rcb was losing.

Besides it was not just the laugh ...it was his entire demeanor during the match and after.

This was not a charity match. It was the effing final of an icc event .The way he played , the way he captained...and then he goes around laughing like it is a *ing joke.

The whole bloody country was disappointed and he goes around laughing likes he gives a **** about his fans.

He and his *ing laugh .

I wish I had not seen the clip.

He was just gracious in defeat . Just shows modern times when this is seen as bad thing and interpreted in another way

you see many sports losers shake hand say nice things about winner . Even hug and smile with them . Does not mean they didn't give 100 per cent

but yes kohli silly to do this as misjudged the stupidity of Indian fans to look so deeply in to it

are you guys suggesting he did not try 100 per cent to win ?

He was gracious in defeat when he got knocked out of ipl.

This was not gracious. This was ott behavior .

We saw him as a losing captain in ipl and a losing captain here.

I have far more respect for the guy who felt the pain of loss  for his team in ipl.

You are over thinking beetle ji with all due respect.

The sad truth is that Media is spoling this whole world and making them over-think.

I can't change your opinion about this but I feel we all laugh at our homes and continue to eat good food a second later even though we might see in the news that some innocent has died in India or in the world. Why don't we stop laughing at our house while talking to our family members also for a second and stop enjoying our food, and show respect? Because life continues beetle ji.

There are different deadlines for all Some mourn for week, while some for a day. He has quickly moved on here. Others can mourn the loss for a while which is fine but doesn't mean Kohli should be critcized for not being like them.

You watch a lot of cricket right?

Eng Aus  players hangout all the time,go to bars etc. Hell even some of them take citizenship of each other's countries and no one cares but have you ever after an ashes series during the presentation or at the end seen both players joking around?

I don't recollect it either.

First of  all it wasn't an accomplishment to get into the final, we were the favorites. We were playing an underdog team, we were playing an arch rival, Kohli was captaining his first big ICC event- No harm losing and no one is saying he didn't try but atleast respect the fan.

Let is say you go to a someone's funeral ,someone whom you don't care about and you see your  best friend there whom you haven't met in years...are you going to laugh and giggle or atleast hold it in till you get out of that place.

it felt horrible to me...why should I care as a fan when I see the captain laughing and giggling.

Kohli smiled at Amir and Amir gave him a send off.I am still embarrassed by that but one guy both the intensity the other guy probably did but I didn't see it.

It looks like pakistani player in the clip is sharing a funny story in the clip about his family member or could be about a kid doing funny thing. If they approach Indian players and share something funny, we can not laugh at their joke?

These players don't meet every time and they are probabaly not going to see each other after that presentation so a Pakistani player cracking a joke and you want yuvi and Kohli to be rude to them and tell them to eff off?

Thats the whole point.

We did not even know who approached who etc and we are judging Kohli.
