R.Sridhar on why team likes Shastri over kumble

Indian Cricketing brigade has to be one of the most spoiled bunch of professionals  -   They play cricket -  That's your job !   If you want to play as a hobby - join the local Sunday league.   These guys claim to be "passionate" about playing cricket but heck every other day throwing a diva tantrum or bickering bout measly millions they aren't getting. 

I'm sure there are millions of other people who are passionate about their jobs and professions but do not throw a hissy fit everytime things do not go their way.  These guys need to told that they do not "own" cricket nor is BCCI/Indian cricket team their private property - It is a job similar to working for ISRO or Indian Police Services etc.   Put your head down and do your job

It looks like Shastri wanted Indian players to become character actors, while Kumble wanted them to become excellent heroes.

According to few reports, Anil Kumble is a tough man to handle since his playing days. It was almost impossible for players like Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly to control his anger and it was Rahul Dravid, who was given the task of calming down his Karnataka teammate.

Dravid is renowned for his polite and calm nature and this is why he was able to pacify Anil Kumble. The seniors wouldn’t attempt to get in way once Kumble was furious on some issue but Dravid had few tricks to bring back things to normal.

Shastri represents everything that is wrong with Indian cricket and the country India. The biggest sifarish case and most useless man making money. What a shame.

Maybe they should have Kumble & Dravid as coaches such that latter serves to cool the former.
