Nitish resigns

BJD support would be easy for BJP if they cut back their campaign in Orissa, or forge some sort of seat sharing agreement with Patnaik.

I had this view right from the beginning. BJD was always a fence sitter. They even voted for President Kovind. Could've manoeuvred to get BJD in the NDA fold... Instead of creating too many regional opponents, BJP needs to an alliance which can fight against regional UPA parties...

Utter humiliation for Nitish, he has been battered left and right since Modi was BJP PM candidate, came out with crass statements, and is now taking shelter under Modi, what a joker

From what Modi has shown, he is no Vajpayee, there is no forgiveness, at some point he is going to finish off Nitish's political career...and there goes one genuine hope for the presstitute society

Wrong. RJD still has its votebank + complete shift of Muslim voters to them. And now Nitish is number 1 leader there. There arent any local BJP leader to match him....

"Votebanks" only get you some base votes. Elections are won or lost based on which party fence-sitters decide to vote for. In situations like these where the 3 party coalition has failed to even complete half its term, fence-sitters are likely to go for BJP.

BJP was faced with the same situation in Delhi, where they were overwhelming favorites just after 2014 LS elections. But sloppy work from them to let elections slide for a long time, which caused public sentiment to go against them.

As far as leadership is concerned, BJP won UP with an overwhelming majority despite not having a single leadership face in UP. They did not even have a CM candidate. They can repeat the same formula in Bihar.

Afterall, Modi is not untouchable anymore. This is a big jolt to the secular brigade.

And some are suggesting that BJP shouldnt support Nitish but we are forgetting the imporatnt point here that NK only resigned because NDA promised him unconditional support if he broke away from Mahagathbandhan. NK would not have resigned, had he not had this support. There was a tacit understanding between JDU and BJP. This was brewing for few weeks now. NK was cozying up to NDA for last few weeks.

You are so wrong. If anything, BJP is not making the same Delhi mistake. It has seized upon the chance and made its move "quick". Next, it's not just the opposition who need alliance, BJP also need alliances if they want to win 2019. So a good decision for now.

The biggest concern is still, it's 2 long years for LS elections. Nitish can and may still break-up ties with BJP for whatever decision during this period. That will embarrass and hurt BJP a lot. There needs to be a watchful eye on Nitish and contingent plans ready in case he again quits.

Or is BJP just offering outside support? Is JDU getting into NDA & central government? These are two important questions and not that clear currently.

Terrible move by the BJP to support an Asshole and opportunist like Nitish, hopes it comes back to bite them in 2019.

Not really, it's alliance building for BJP which is absolutely critical in a caste-based politics.

#NitishGharWapsi trending

I think Nitish compromised on his PM dreams and has joined Modi's NDA. He was from Advani camp of NDA and now Advani has been silenced by Modi. Neatish has been warming up with NDA ever since demonetization which He supported. GST support and prez election brought them more together, while BJP triggered CBI pressure on Lalu. This break of MahaGhatbandhan :hehe: was bound to happen.

"Secularism" ki lag gayi... Hope people of India keep on rejecting this bogey of "Secularism" (which is nothing but to use Muslims vote bank against the onward progress of the nation) in the favour of progress and development... :nice:

This bogey of BJP being communal is being jettiosoned fast.

Not really. Corrupts, criminals can "purify" themselves by being the secular cheerleaders so this secular/communal game will continue for selfish reasons. Nitish took a stand against RJD's corruption, but media still has remained quite....
