Not denial but I know what you mean. Maybe Kohli is intimidated and cant go against someone of Dhoni's stature. But he could have kept Dhoni in the team and created a backup. Instead he brought back KD. Would you deny Kohli's lack of vision as a skipper? Why we went back to Parthiv Patel in test cricket? There was no Dhoni there. Why did we went back to Yuvraj Singh? Why KL Rahul gets dropped regularly?

When Dhoni was young he faced the same dilemma with Sachin, too big a player to drop etc etc. But unlike Kohli, he played smart and created backup.

Problem is not Kohli....it is the admins. Back in the 90s no one looked like they were above the BCCI...Sachin was probably the closest but even then Dalmiya was the don....same with even Sreeni mama or Sharad Pawar....too many phattus in BCCI or selection committee.

Also If Dhoni has such a big brandvalue in 2018 for doing jack in the last 3 years, who are the idiots buying these brands, that’s a bigger concern than cricket.

Actually it seems like Kohli still consider him as senior brother or some god father who saved his career during his bad days ( Eng Series) hence showing allegiance to him. The current team is more like family and patidar team where everyone is taking care of each others and their family and dogs too. It doesn't look like like Indian cricket team more like a family and friend 11 and Dhoni is Tau Ji of the family no one has guts to raise their voice against him.

Its not about brand value, its about the stature and admiration. It was always there in Indian cricket and will continue to be there in future. Sachin, Dhoni and Kohli are 3 biggest stars Indian cricket have produced. Back in 2010-11, it was very easy for Dhoni/Selectors to ask players like Dravid, Ganguly, VVS, Sehwag to leave. Thank you very much for your services. They were by no means inferior cricketer but never was a star like Sachin. Hence it was not tough to get rid off them but no one had balls to ask Sachin to retire.

Similary now, its very easy to drop Gambhir, Yuvraj, Bhajji, Raina etc but asking your biggest star (Dhoni) to go? No one wants to take that risk. Wait for 8 years and the same situation will repeat with Kohli. (I hope I am wrong on this one though)

Star culture in India is way too much and its not only in cricket. Look at Bollywood for example. Whether its right? Ofcourse not. But that is the harsh reality.

What is this stature you speak about...Kapil Dev was dropped when he was done....Even Ganguly and Dravid where dropped from Odis....Dhoni is not bigger than any of these names.

It is embarrassing.

Also what happened to we are all servants of Indian cricket? Doesn’t he realize that he is past his prime?

Jokes apart...Dhoni is sounding like a hypocrite....serious questions to Dhoni fans, these 10(22) type innings would you see that from a 2007-2011 Dhoni on easy surfaces especially when the par score is 300+ ?

This is a common occurrence and he has to realize he is not good enough

he need time to settle , lets hope he gets enough time to launch himself :p:

in winter , we need some some heating up to start  royal enfield

Good innings .. Knows total is more than enough didn't waste balls like sachin does for his 50..

He should keep playing innings like those on future.

Yeah more than enough total on a pitch where pehelekhayo  was hitting sixes for fun.

Are you taking a dig at Kohli and Dhawan for not hitting 6s despite facing 50+ balls ??  Rain and Wet ball obviously helped them during 2nd second innings.. Chahal's No balls and Drop catches didn't help us atall.. 35 to 40 ball difference after AB got out. More than enough actually unless you are agenda driven :cantstop: Pakistani like lannister who wanted us to lose a series by pledging his support for RSA..

Congrats on quoting comments from 3rd match :p:

At the end of the day, dhoni was able to do nothing against a player of status of Sachin inspite of his clear indirect digs at Sachin in press conferences. Sachin left on his own terms. He was able to throw out Sehwag, Gambhir, Laxman etc but couldn't do anything about Sachin. Dhoni is only second to Sachin in popularity and status in India for general masses and bcci. I doubt kohli can throw out dhoni even if he wanted which he clearly not tbh.
