fineleg Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 (edited) Well done INDIA in first t20 and good bye Ashish Nehra ji. We went in with three no.11 batsmen (long tail), Bumrah, Nehra and Yuz Chahal None of them can bat much at all, they are real no.11 tailenders. Bowlers: 3 pacers, 2 spinners and 1 allrounder (plus part-time spinner shreyas iyer) Would we do one more batsmen instead of a bowler in remaining matches? 2pacers, 2 spinners + Pandya & Iyer (allows additional KL Rahul) 3pacers, 1 spinner + Pandya&Iyer (allows additional KL Rahul) Edited November 1, 2017 by fineleg
gattaca Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 You used to mule Singh dhoni waiting to hear virat mule kohli. But why don't you say it ?
rkt.india Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 4-5 batsmen are enough in T20s. RPSinghalong 1
Vilander Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 panauti to all who thought Ind will be beaten. me included.
SK_IH Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 dhawan got man of the match, now he will be there till next wt20.I heard yetserday our middle order is weak link thats why opener play the way they do ,as if they perfrom consistently like Kohli in t20s.If I take out the last series vs Aus in Aus where opneners performed consistently, both Dhawan and Rohit dont have earth shattering numbers in this format.Ideally we need only one of these two in the lineup, cant afford both.,preferable Rohit because he has the ability to hit sixes though he way he plays in this format sometimes is cringeworthy especially considering he opens In so far as weak middle order is concerned,I think they are trying iyer and may Rahul in remainder of this series and they are not bad options. Pandya although doesnt have good numbers in this format but he can be relied upon to score sixes ,most crucial aspect in this format.Ideally both Pant and Krunal should have been part of this XI ,to see if they can change the mundane approach we have in this format with all similar type players from 1 to 6 ,where is sarfaraz khan these days not even playing domestics? he is the type of unorthodox player which is needed in this side as well Bowling is looking fabulous and I have no doubt batting can be ideal for t20s as well if right players are given the chance
SK_IH Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 rohit rahul one of the openers have to be more proactive kohli iyer pant krunal hardik(floater) bhuvi chahal/kuldeep siraj/anther spinner(kuldeep) depending on conditions bumraj express bowling 1

Yes, Dhawan was poor in T20s but he seems to be turning the corner.

It's one T20 and he has turned a corner? He had a dolly drop when he was on 8. That's not going to happen always. beetle 1
Vk1 Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Dhawan has become a better batsman in the past 6 months. His strike rate and consistency have improved. Unless you play on swinging or spinning wickets which is rare why do you want more bits and pieces guys. Yesterday's bowling squad was as good as any that we fielded in the recent past. Also check how we targeted their part-time 5th bowlers.
sourab10forever Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Well, we went in with 4 no.11 batsmen. Bumrah Chahal Nehra Dhoni Laaloo 1

CoverDrive Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 How can you complain about Dhawan after his recent performance. He has been hitting really well.
Silva Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 If a team needs the number 9 to consistently contribute with the bat then they wont win many matches. The bottom four should always be picked purely based on how good they bowl. Only at number 6 and 7 should batting be taken into consideration. I think in the last two icc tournaments india lack of an extra specialist pace bowler was a major factor in getting knocked out. Jadeja was picked as a specialist bowler and he did very poorly in both matches. Im sure if bk was picked ahead of him in the t20 semi final and if yadav or shami played ahead of him in the ct india woupd a have done a lot better. beetle 1

RPSinghalong Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 If you're relying on 9,10 & 11 to score runs you have a problem, so it doesn't matter not a bad decision from India.
bowl_out Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 I expect just one change.. Kuldeep/Siraj in for Nehra.. The rest of the side will be the same
velu Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 in a close game we need tailenders to hold the bat a bit .. also having a strong tailender give batsmen more freedom to play good example is gayle , kohli , abdv and watto .. awesome top order , but end up choking while chasing in close game because of their long tail
Khota Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Get rid of that wicketkeeper whatever his name is dhoni?
Forever Indian Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Select your best 5 bowlers irrespective of their batting ability. That will win you more matches in T20s than selecting half good bowlers who can bat a bit. beetle 1
