Problem is that he goes into his shell and gets bogged down not a player whom you can rely on if you have to win against opposition.

People were making such a big deal and coming with ridiculous consipiracy theories for Rahane not playing first two tests.Rahane is not Bradman who cannot be dropped.

 

Rahane has never showed ability to impose himself in series , even in 2014 other than Lords 100 what else did he do?? 

 

There is only one batsman in this team who is undroppable .

He is truly overrated,he has created this aura of best player overseas with 1 inning per series and then sleepwalking throughout.These are the kind of players who offer nothing but self preservation.

On supposed good series of Eng last time I think  MSD outscored him.

In the cricket parlance,he is quite like Asad Shafiq of Pakistan,apna kaam kiya ek match and then go missing thereafter 

Also he has multiple negatives attached to his batting,struggles against spin,can't play LOI with any authority,with so many frailties he is lucky to be India's vice captain.

It was appalling to read some people had the gall of putting him ahead of Virat as a performer overseas

Senti kar dia aapne my favorite player in the team but he has been a big let down sadly he can't contribute while chasing when the going gets tough.He was batting as if he was scared yesterday got into his shell.

He is so done at this level, which is sad indeed. I rated him really high at one point, before he was included in ODI set up. That inclusion in ODIs messed up his mind and game. He might as well thank Mumbai Lobby to end his test career by pressurizing his inclusion in ODI and for F sake in T20s.
