With Dhoni you get every significant advantage you have with Kohli, same can't be said otherwise. You won't get a player who performs in final or difficult batting conditions with Kohli.

Move this thread to jokes section and this poster to jokes section lol

You are saying as if dhoni has performed in majority of final. As far as i remember only wc11.

dhoni can keep and lead the team as well

Exactly. We can easily find alternative for Kohli which will be good enough to win odis. Its also possible to get alternative to MSD who is as good or may be slightly better than him with bat, But same guy to have Dhoniconda brain and lead the side. Its next to impossible. India will never produce another Dhoni.

Another Kohli. I am certain there is one in touching distance in domestic circle even now. It just that Kohli isnt letting selectors look at it.

While currently there is no comparison overall MSD has been the better or the more valuable player (unlike in T20s he has actually had an ATG career in ODIs). Kohli is obviously the better batsman.

Averages 45 in 14 finals he played. Scored 4 fifities and won most important final in history of Indian ODI cricket. He was also MoM in 1 final where he didn't score a 50.

Kohli is yet to score half century in final and he probably only Indian batsman with so many matches failing to do so.

Dhoni is easily more clutch player than Kohli overall. As long as matches are league matches or bilaterals on flat pitches, Kohli is more clutch player than Dhoni, irrespective of the situation of the match. But not overall.

Are these 14 final what you are referring to is an iic final or CB series? In addition to that only playing in final should be the criteria than I think fakhar zaman and all ll be consider all time great. Can you please compare their average in all the icc events which they played?

Yes, that's what I clearly meant in other posts, ONLY finals. It was obvious, wasn't it?

Dhoni is one of the first name you put while selecting all time Indian ODI XI. No competition. As a package(wk+batsman+captain) its almost impossible to find someone like him. True MVP candidate.

Kohli, Sachin, Yuvi, Ganguly, Dravid, Azhar, Sehwag, Rohit, Shikhar, Gauti, etc all will have fair competition to book their spot in the XI. And we will keep on churning lot of good batsman in future as well.
