all batsman who recently debuted for india are all hacks

manish ,jadhav, iyer, pant

even rohit and dhawan who themselves are weak against swing bowling

have better technique than these pant , iyer brigade

why india is producing lot of hacks nowdays?

India have better batsmen in Vijay, Pujara etc who are branded as Test batsmen. And then there’s Rahul who is fragile as paper.

The point is when you select your ODI teams for easy batting conditions and Test team for tough conditions and include players who can grind it out only for Tests, days like today are bound to come by every now and then

What do you mean? Everyone's role model is only Sehwag style batting? No other legend batsmen in Ind cricket?

These are the fruits of IPL indeed.

No

The **** called play your natural game. Sehwag is once in a gen freak, everyone else follows the text book.

I have not seen a single good inning from Rahane as well in these kind of odi pitches. If ur analysis is based on today's pitch, let me tell u this very few of a modern day batsmen would have survived on this pitch including current fab 4.

Vijay Shankar?

Should be tried .... we have not seen him enough to make an informed decision regarding his ability to tackle quality seamers. Even if he can't, he will add value as a No.6 batter.

Rahul should be given an extended run.

Boult said that he was impressed with the way Prithvi Shaw tackled swing. He is a high SR batter too ... maybe one for the future.

Not everyone. But lot of players I have been seeing in domestic cricket trying to bat like Sehwag.  It has nothing to do with IPL. We have several domestic batsmen who do not bat like him but then they won't be able to bat at 90-100 SR of more in modern ODI game.  It is not easy to find batsmen who can adapt to both type of games that quickly. We had just 1 such batsman in 20 years between 1989-2009 and that was Sachin Tendulkar.   you are talking like we produced great batsmen by the dozen before IPL.

On a pitch like this, you need a lot of luck and positive intent, and bat with a straight bat and as close to the body as possible. Why Dhoni succeeds at times on such pitches is he bats with a very straight bat with no back-lift.  Positive intent does not mean hitting 4s and 6s but positive and decisive movement.

Asia cup T20 16 , recent Kolkata test against sl. Even they did not swing as much as it did on Dharamshala
