A  brilliant batsman with out a shadow of doubt on a spree of mountain load of runs.Having said that  I think teams need to go the Rangana Herath way to tackle him effectively.Herath dismissed him 5 times in 6 inns in SL.Smith often commits to offside by shuffling across even before the ball reaches him . A Herath type bowler combined with relentless attack out side the off stump seems the effective method against him.

that was still at home and Pakistani attack was a middling attack. If Indian players play such innings at home, people will call it was at home and if others do, then the same argument disappears.

Both Smith and Kohli have one thing that unites them,thats penchant going big when they are on song,they absolutely demlish opposition in each and every match ,thats ATG quality in both of them

kohli although makes it great to watch as well when he does it but Smith overall is just ahead of him at this moment

hmm you are short changing the guy ,i bet if any indian had done something like smith in back to back knock out matches,they would be heroes for life ,look at how dhoni and gauti are exalted for finals knock

I'm doing no such thing. I was told, Smith did something unprecedented in Cricket during 2015 WC. I'm trying to figure out what that is.

Context of the match is equally derived from the challenge in a given match. 2 of the matches, they were chasing ~200 scores.

Spot on.Some people speak as if Smith was  in the situation of 'Sachin  to chase 359 against Mcgrath and co  in SAF in world cup finals'.

Infact Smith had it so easy in each of those 3 matches in each and  every aspect...no pressure of expectations, no big total to chase, no ATG quality opposition bowling,no  tough batting conditions what so ever.The only pressure was that they  were  world cup matches  &  AUS had already won it 4 times.Even with the likes of Amla & Devilliers , the pressure of expectations of  'getting it for the first time' can be associated, but not with Smith.

Smith may be smart and retire the moment his reflexes go down. What he is doing these days is just scary.

He has reached that league. It's now about surpassing them.

 

Fans of SRT will nevertheless argue that he didn't face the bowlers of the 90s, who were ATGs, and discredit Smith.
