Navdeep Saini bowling with genuine pace now ( Fastest of 152.9 kph )

Saini can be very good in Aus. He may be only around 6 feet but he gets more bounce than many taller bowlers due to his high arm action.  Prasidh today barely got any bounce but he did.

Yes ... we need an accurate pacer with pace and bounce in Australia. Someone who will sustain pressure from his end on the flatter decks, if any.  Saini could be ideal.

Saini's bounce was very impressive today.

Prasidh lacked rhythm today.  He too is normally bouncy.

Navdeep Saini bowling in Ranji Trophy 2017-18 semifinal and final.

The combination of pace, accuracy and seam movement is top class.

strange to see pant playing ranji last year and now being drafted into the national side but not saini who's shown stellar performances. For who knows what reason we've decided to stick with two 'pace attack leaders' in ishant and umesh with bowling averages of over 35. No other number 1 team has had such an inefficient pace attack ever

Umesh has been a major disappointment since the time he is been made a certainity in the test xi..never bowled with control,l leaks  runs as spendthrift..atleast they should have looked beyond him from this year but they are wasting time on him, they could have used Saini's skill in tests after Ranji 2017/18 straightway

Bowlers are made to toil away in the domestics for many years unlike batsmen, who just need one good season to play for India. No wonder we are **** when it comes to bowling because of the way we treat them.

I thought Saini was a bit under par and allowed himself to be overshadowed by the likes of Rajpoot and Siraj during the last few 'A' tours. He was consistently miserly but never among the wickets. He certainly has an athletic physique and a smooth, repeatable action.

Right. After end of Ranji he was little under performed. Seems to be picking up now. It happens. Could be some niggle.

Saini  4  for 30 off 10 overs in a semi final match in Vijay Hazare Trophy.

In the last match, a quarter final, his figures read  3 for  39 off 8.1 overs.

Consistent performances in knockout games in the 50 over format.

He bowled in good areas with pace, bounce and seam movement.  Today,  2 wickets were off channel balls and the other 2 were off quick bouncers.

Will he get a chance in ODIs ahead of the mediocre trundler brigade  !

Bro how is Saini's bowling in the death overs? Does he have a good yorker and variations?

The matches were poised in such a manner that his death bowling skills were not tested in either match.

He does bowl a slower ball which is ok-ish.   Picked a wicket off one last match.

Had a good yorker earlier ...  did not see him use it  this season.

10 - 0 - 53 - 3  in  Vijay Hazare Trophy final.

Could have had another ... but no ball wrongly given.

2 of the wickets of international batters Shaw and Rahane.

10 wickets in 3 knockout matches.

Combination of pace, bounce, attacking lines and lengths, good bouncers and seam movement both ways.

What is impressing me is his ability to take wickets with the new ball with attacking lines and lengths.  This is what our ODI team needs, especially if we play a 3rd specialist pacers in England.

He is very attacking, something which we have lacked upfront,he can pair with Bumrah and give India strong starts with the ball,

Khaleel on the other hand can finish off things ,he has those skills to bowl at death

Saini in the first 3 overs today in SMA Trophy

Fastest    151 k

Average   143 k

Lots of balls in the 145 k to 148 k range.

Good bounce

Both his short balls and fuller balls have looked quick today.

Finishes with 1 for 17 from his 4 overs.
