How is he performing in the domestics? Any chance of him making an int'l comeback?

Aaron didn't have a great season and Jharkhand fared poorly in Ranji. Picked up 15 wickets from 5 matches. No 5-fers. With lot of young fast bowlers coming through, chances are looking bleak for Aaron.

He was backed by mosher.. Bit obvious where his career would be.. :cantstop:  other than bowling phasttt/ spraying like Ashok Dinda he was just an another overhyped bowler. :cantstop:

He was never ever backed up .Bowler like him do need some backing,he was no differnt than U Yadav but the thing is Yadav got many chances, had Aaron got half of them he could have done better. He needed a captain like Ganguly to support him..sad though

True. He got dropped after he got injured during SA series. It was unfair that he didn't get picked after he recovered. But now he is not helping his case by not putting up good performances.

The great dhoni and his genius mind thought trundlers like unadkat and Vinay Kumar are more important.

Dhoni's captaincy style was by far the most unorthodox in cricket, he was a thinking captain and relied more on outsmarting the opponent rather than the traditional approach of unsettling the opponent with aggressive fast bowling. This is the best explanation I can come up with his obsession for medium pace, otherwise no captain in his right state of mind would pick Binny for a test series in England.

Aaron was a decent wicket taking ODI bowler, we should have developed him in that role better. Instead tried to make him a test bowler and lost everything.

Just because he is fast shouldn't mean he should get endless chances with a bowling average of 53. He has not been a consistent long format performer even in domestics. He has a good List A record and should have been developed for that role if at all.

Unadkat and Vinay Kumar played one test each and were discarded. Aaron played 9 tests.

Answer to this is very simple, he didn't continue with them coz he was continuously humiliated and criticized all over the world from social media to electronic media and also here in icf too, even Ravi shastri was taunting him in commentry box, damn sure that would have been end of his captaincy career if he had continued with them in 9 more test matches.

Kohli has been captaining the test team for over three years now, and we have not had even one new pacer debut in test cricket. That for me is more concerning than what happened 6 years ago for one test.

You may be a blind Dhoni hater, but we have had more than enough discussions of his test captaincy which ended 3+ years before. If Dhoni had his flaws, Kohli has bigger flaws so may be more useful to discuss what flaws are currently affecting the team.

Btw why has Mr Shastri picked Unadkat in the T20 series now if he was taunting his pick before? Atleast in 2010 when Unadkat played he was much faster than he is now. As I said be a bit more rational and talk about flaws the current team management and captain is doing.

Lol, I knew, dhoni chamchas like you will bring kohli  somehow in discussion, let me tell you one thing kohli is alredy a better captain than dhoni in test matches, sa tour will give us a better idea, I am still not convinced by his captaincy in Odis though, and I have always criticized his pathetic selections of karthic, kaul etc and his  rreluctance to try youngsters .

May be he got rewarded for a better show this year in IPL, and note one thing he was strictly selected for t20s only and that's a good job by shastri and co. They understand how limited he is unlike that cool captain who had idea about pace bowling.

Lol, if you have see my posts I have been asking for Dhoni to be kicked out even before 2015 WC. I am saying what is the point of discussing something that happened like 6 years before when there are so many issues with current team management. As I am saying does it not concern you that despite having so many fast bowling potential not one has been tried in a test in last 3-4 years? How is that healthy in the long run?

So when did I supported kohlis pathetic selections?? I am equally worried about his reluctance to try youngsters as you.

Injuries and inconsistency.

Also, he has been outperformed by others in domestic seasons. There are some already on the bench/A side etc who are more deserving as well. In any case we have no room for more fast bowlers and Captain Kohli is not interested in trying anyone new either.

Very rightly said Kohli is not doing any great job either. This sa tour may present a clear picture for near future. There are not many captains who develop players out of nowhere...what I mean to say it's job of the coach and other talent monitoring panels(don't have any technical name so) recognised by board. There should be some sane captain over riding voice in the board which can present the youngsters ample opportunity to showcase their talent..(so much of work is needed if captains are not farsighted)
