only one person making an ass out of himself here... a foreigner is laughing at our country and trying to create disharmony in our national setup. what did you expect Kohli to do? Just take it up the backside? How did Ponting react when Indian journalists would speak that way to him.

Bhai...tu rehne de...wrong day to do chamchagiri...dont even try to turn this into patriotism and bharat ko bachao andolan just because he is your favourite cricketer...nonsense...Kohli himself is creating disharming in our national setup with his weird ass strategies and favouritism/PR. So we do not even need outsiders for this at the moment.

A foreigner is asking a genuine question but Kohli being an ass just did not want to take any responsibility of his selections and this ridiculous chop and change movement he has started.

And ffs, we have lost the series, if you only want to be surrounded by YES-MEN all around, you better leave captaincy and give it to someone who is more worthy and capable. Simple.

look, I understand this is time for rejoicing amongst all of Dhoni's bee-atches, but forgive me for still maintaining common sense. How was Pujara's batting overseas under captain cool? You do realise we got two pattas last time we batted in South Africa right as compare with current series (overall scores of both teams and individual scores of batsmen on both sides clearly indicate that).

Genuine question? Interviewer was talking with a condescending and sarcastic tone...if you don't think that's obvious from the video then shortcoming here is that you need to improve your English language skills.

We lost the series...we took 20 wickets in all 4 innings and had a chance to win both matches heading into final day of both tests....far bigger improvement from last round of overseas test where for the most part we didn't even look competitive and were reduced to Sri Lanka/Bangladesh levels

Last SA tour most were touring for first time and we were on the verge of winning first test and the drew it. In England we won a test on the Greenest of tracks possible at Lords and drew the first test in that tour. In NZ again but for the McCullum blinder we were on top for most of that 1st test.

If you take just the SA tour still we were much more competitive then despite all these players playing in SA for first time.

Just because under Dhoni we were poor overseas that is not an excuse for captains in foreseeable future!

He did predict 2-1 win for us in SA which looking at it today, seems realistic had we had dotted our Is and crossed our Ts.

If you are referring to me @sensible-indian bhai I changed my predictions in 2017 December to a 0-2 loss after watching that Sri Lanka series and how effed up our prep was going to be in the lead up to SA. Check my Dec 8 prediction in that thread.

I predicted a 2-1 victory in Eng but after watching the batting shows by both Eng and Ind in the last month or so, I don't think either team has the batting to force draws. It will be a proper crapfest but still I will give the advantage to India because

i) Kohli and Bevda can't afford to * it up any longer. Dhoni was incredibly successful in the 2007-10 period and with a WC and WT20 he had a much longer rope. Kohli has done zilch in comparison and questions will be raised if he allows the slide to continue any further. I won't be surprised if he keeps the friendship on hold till after that tour.

ii) This is personal for Kohli because of his 2014 experience there. As much as I dislike his mannerisms he is a bloody hard worker and will prepare hard enough for redemption.

iii) This isn't that bad a team, test specialists like Vijay, Che, Rahul, Saha etc will be hurting inside, they will prepare well. Batting will be better in England that much I can guarantee.

iv) We have a good bowling attack this time. Also since the tests will be played in Aug-Sep the conditions will be to our liking even if they try to doctor it. Kohli-Jaddu should feature in the series, both will have a big role.

v) We play the T20s/ODIs 1st, so half the team will be acclimatized to the conditions before the tests. Preparation in the lead up will be good, we may play 2-3 warm ups because the issue of bad prep has been leaked/raised before the public, they can't mess up any more.

vi) Eng side is over the hill, ripe for the picking. They are even weaker than their 2007 team.

vii) I think by now Kohli understands the state of our catching. We have enough time after IPL to run camps to practice catching, we will prepare like how Pak prepared before their previous tour to Eng.

viii) Unlike 2014 this time we have the mental advantage. In 2014 when we toured there we didn't really have the self belief even after going 1-0 up because of the scars of 2012 home defeat. The way we beat them in 2016, surpassing their 400 scores easily and crushing them slowly but surely, the Poms haven't forgotten that. Saffers were beaten on slightly treacherous tracks but Eng were outplayed on traditional Indian tracks where our quicks played a big role. We will have our noses slightly ahead in the mental department unlike in 2014.

ix) DRS will help us. Last tour absence of DRS hurt us badly in the 3rd test, this time at least umpiring won't decide any outcome. DRS will help us in all tours from here on.

After winning in Eng we have a home series against WI, then a very short period before heading to Aus, same SA wallah **** repeated all over again. Moreover complacency will set in, injuries will rule out key players, old habits will reappear and Kohli and co will have that sense of accomplishment/lack of motivation, resting on past laurels yada yada. We will get smashed in Aus because of these reasons and more. Pitches this time won't be that friendly like we had in 2014-15. There is a great deal of public angst w.r.t their pitches and CA has scores to settle after the tracks we laid for them in Pune and Bengaluru. Moreover with the dissolution of big 3 no more ass kissing by CA, there will be hostility. Lot of bad blood among players as well and Aussies will be ready for the kill, Smith will do something barely imaginable like 3 consecutive 200s or 750 run series etc against a depleted Indian bowling attack (injuries) and their 4 pronged attack will leave us with bloody noses.

As per my original post, last tour to South Africa pattas were rolled out as part of peace offering from Haroon Lorgat as BCCI threatened to bankrupt them. Many analysts criticised how flat those wickets were in that series. We also had some warm up and acclimatisation to South Africa with ODIs before hand. England win at Lords was excellent, but next 3 games we got well and truly whooped. The other time we were captained by Kohli in loss abroad, we nearly won in adelaide. So in 3/3 tests losses abroad under Kohli, India has chance to win all 3 matches. So overall legacy of Kohli's captaincy overseas is currently still a lot better than under MSD when we were reduced to a laughing stock of world cricket.

There you go, started with same crap again Dhoni this, Dhoni that...lol Chaato aur chaato...

This is a good team, this captain crook only has to do some basics right, which he cannot do because of his favoritism and sheer dumb logic which you keep on defending shamelessly. Only if he used little brain while selections, he would not be defending his ridiculous chop and change strategies in press conferences after a series loss. Interviewer was asking the same thing as 90% of ICFers had questioned but obviously you are only getting hurt because Kohli is questioned and not because India lost.

Is our country so small and vulnerable, and our cricket setup so fragile that some random foreigner can actually insult the one and create disharmony in the other by using words?

The issue is something else, IMO. We've all watched this over and over again in various forms and at various times with various individuals, not just in cricket.

Forget right or wrong, when a public personality like Kohli fights gracelessly against people who are not in his league, unka kuch nahin jaata, only Kohli gets hurt.  And as the Indian captain, he actually does his country and the setup no favours.

I have referred to Dhoni as these performances have to be referenced in comparison to the crap that immediately preceded it.

His chop and change strategy is what will take us to the promised land...he's trying to sift out the men from the boys. What's he supposed to say to Pujara..."well done puttar, keep getting run out". He's looking for horses for courses, rather than sticking to 'tried and not so trusted'. His intention was right in trying to have attacking batsmen (rather than batsmen who just sit in their bunker), just execution was wrong. He's a young captain and learning, again as opposed a captain who was flopping continually 7 years into the job.

im hurt because Kohli was questioned? Do some research please before spouting crap....I criticised his team selection on the forum just yesterday FFS. Any journalist being rude and sarcastic to any Indian player, I'd never tolerate. Journalist has responsibility to ask question in a professional manner.
