Do you people want/need Caste based reservations in Cricket?

Recently there has been a huge roar and cry over the demand of reservation in Cricket by several groups.

I am also hearing there is a plan to take the agitation to the next level by whining in the Parliament.

So folks, what do you feel about this implementation?

I think it will be a reality soon enough unfortunately, 

 

politicians are asking for private sector reservation, army reservation, and cricket reservation

 

all three will happen within a few decades it seems

Absolutely no. Every field in our day to day life has been affected by reservations. Cricket provides a welcome solace but these power hungry politicians could do anything to even ruin this experience.

reservations should be introduced in every field, only the under privileged can take India to next level - this is a great development - surely Indian cricket will do wonders after this.

a big no .....ability should be the sole criteria... Reservations for what ????????? So that Umesh Yadav can bat at 3 so that a Prithvi Shaw can be left out?????????

Not just Internationational, It should be in IPL, Ranaji and various schools and academies. Allthough for few years, Its should be given as voluntary target to BCCI to achieve this. If it doesnt work, It should be mandated.

Not really. Social upliftment and equality is responsibility of Government. Cricket is a sector which have thousands of jobs. We need such drastic measures.

 

Look at South Africa. Ntini Rabada, Bhavuma wouldnt have made it if there was no quota or nudge.

 

Government should and must nudge BCCI to start acting

I think there is a lot of poverty in India. Coming from a very humble background I can relate to it. People with less money should be encouraged besides their caste. Spending millions on Shastri is a waste and money should be spent on infrastructure. But after saying all that Indian team should be based on merit only.

I'll add - everything should be merit based. Reservations were supposed to be for a period of 10 years, for the last 5 decades though they've been used as a bargaining chip for vote bank politics

I disagree about jobs. Poverty is a very vicious cycle and so difficult to get out of. But using it is a vote bank is equally reprehensible.

Rabada Bavuma etc etc should play if they deserve to be in the eleven.Not if some body better than them  remains  left out.

Yes, only a kshatriya and a sudra should be allowed to be fast bowlers since they are naturally gifted to do tough physical work. Brahmins and vaishyas/banias should be batsmen because they are better trained in mental tasks.

 

If a brahmin/vaishya becomes a fast bowler, they will bowl Manoj Prabhakar swingers and if a kshatriya/sudra becomes a batsman, they will be Afridi like sloggers with no off stump awareness and forward defence. Virat Kohli is a rare exception in this case.

 

Therefore mecheng says caste system should come to cricket.

Even better have reservation at birth 30 pc for woman , 40 for sc st , 15 pc for bc and remaining don’t care.
