Mcgrath tends to be overrated in these parts due to his record in India, when in fact the 2004 series win was manufactured by batters and Gillespie. Mcgrath wasn't really that penetrative in Asia, he doesn't even have much of a record in SL.

In terms of one man demolition army - Marshall has no parallel, then comes Hadlee and Steyn. I consider Warne to be the bigger genius in that ATG Aus team.

my top 3 in no order

Hadlee,Ambrose, Mcgrath

reasons -ATGs in both formats. Great longevity especially in  test cricket. Hadlee seems to have a little bit involved in ball tampering from his interviews w.r.t this. But he was an one man army .

Steyn is still playing .... Garner though a candidate is usually not in many ATG 11s .... the poll is from the usual suspects

Steyn has played long enough.  You need a modern pacer who knows how to bowl to batters with thick bats.

Garner was an amazing bowler ...  steep bounce with accuracy and averaged 20.x  ...  can't be ignored.  Better than Akram in tests.

Id go for Steyn , McGrath and Wasim because he's a left armer. That attack would have variety. You have a guy capable of bowling very quick with the best outswinger ever and a skiddy short ball, a hit the deck seamer of extreme accuracy and a left armer with all three having the ability to reverse the ball - they would a threat throughout a day's play.

In ATG Test 11s consisting of retired players, we usually see the pace bowlers from the ones listed in the poll .... who would be your top 3 picks (vote for 3 in the poll)

What about PM of Pakistan...he has some 22 avg in test.

Good option but is usually considered for his AR skills .... Akram could make it to some 11s primarily as a bowler as a left arm quick option

Thanks !

This is Garner bowling ...  just look at the steepness of bounce.

A must in an LOI 11 but usually not among the top 2-3 picks in WI ATG test 11 where the usual suspects are Marshall, Ambrose, Holding, etc

He is behing Steyn, Hadlee and Marshall only in Asia.

Marshall, Ambrose, McGrath.

All different types of bowlers - one would kill you with speed and skid, one with steep bounce and one with nagging accuracy and a potty mouth.

Marshall is my all-time favorite non-Indian cricketer, bar none.

people who believe in fair play and ethics  can no more take the PM's record as such.Infact he was one of the worst in the business in all its possibility

If Barnes and Garner do not get votes, I will remove them from the poll as I do not want these greats to be w/o any vote
