Have to comment here because Dhawan and Rahul have put together 2 consecutive 50 partnerships which are MASSIVE in the context of this game, let alone England. Well done! This is what playing with respect yet positively does. If India crush England in this game they can make a comeback in this series. 

 

Its only Day 2, I would look to post 400+ if possible, keep demoralising their bowlers.

He has problems with incoming deliveries. But he should play his natural game, having a wide range of shots. It's obvious his game has shifted towards dominating the bowlers and he should just stick to it, rather than go back to his old ways.

KL Rahul has to stop trying to leave the ball after allowing the ball to hit. He can so easily inside edge on to stumps. He has to be a bit more careful there.

Yep agreed, having a good off side game still is a great strength. That said, one of the first time we are looking good because both innimgs we had a decent start. Decent or good startt impact so much and helps the team’s cause. It helped both Rahane and Kohli last innings with the start we had  from Dhawan-Rahul. Imagine Kohli and Rahane coming in at 20-2. Good starts are so important.

 

Sad to see Vijay out, but now it feels he will be out for a while. Whatever helps

the team’s cause.
