Kaul in 2 Odi’s went wicket less yet gets picked on Ipl performance.

However jaddu is a good selection we can play jaddu in place of useless chahal and play khaleel in place of injured pandya, team looks more balanced in that way with 3 variety spinners two of which are all rounders(jaddu and kedar)  and 3 quality pace  bowlers.

I find it amazing  !

 

ODIs and T20s require separate skillsets apart from the last 10 overs of ODIs.

 

T20s require pacers to bowl variations and try to stop rampaging batsmen from scoring from ball one.  ODIs in the first 40 overs require a lot more line and length bowling at pace.   

 

Similarly, batting in ODIs need a lot more innings building skills while scoring at a fair clip.  While batting in T20s often entail slogging from the start for atleast 2 balls per over.

 

Yet ... we keep selecting ODI cricketers based on IPL performances.

Jaddu has not done anything at all but becomes an automatic selection if you can not try the likes of Krunal,Gowtham in these kind of tournaments when are you going to try them?

Personally I would have preferred krunal and gowtham over jaddu, but now that he has been selected we have no choice than sticking with that winning mentality

also not a bad selection considering a fact that its axars replacement, jaddus agile fielding and energy under these hostile hot  blood sucking conditions can be handy also he can do the job with ball, pitches are conducive for jaddu type  skiddy quick spin bowling saw that yesterday with kedar and rashid khan vs SL.

What has RJ done in ltd overs cricket to earn a recall? Even if his bowling proves effective in this tournament, what does it tell us about how / if India are planning for the future?

Lamo at those celebrating Kaul's ouster after Eng series, bloody selectors love trundlers, they will get picked over and over  actually I think Shardul is not injured, he had a bad game so dropped only to get picked in WI series... Kaul might get the ex after similar performance in Asia cup but will get picked for ODIs in Aus, NZ and the cycle will continue ... this Indian team is phucked for life or till a good drubbing in WC... can someone pls kick these chutiya MSK Prasad out of selection panel
