Mohammed Shami's spell in Perth is the best spell ever by any Indian Fast bowler?

Shami's spell after lunch on Day 4 is some of the best hostile fast bowling one would ever see. He literally scared the batsmen with pace and bounce. Agreed, it was played in Perth which offers lot of pace but it still takes a special effort to bowl like that.

So one begs a question, is the 6 wickets by Shami in Perth is the best fast bowing by an Indian ever?

I think someone said that in past you took one or two such wicket but whole session and 6 fer was not seen in past by indian pacer. So yes must be one of the best hostile spell by an indian bowler if not the best.

Certainly top 3 in terms of hostility if not #1. Srinath was the only one I've seen in the past who could trouble batsmen with pace & bounce until he was overused. Zaheer could hit them once in a while. In contrast, Bumrah hits them on a regular basis.

One of the best spells of hostile fast bowling by an Indian for sure.

Loved watching Shami run in over after over and make the Aussies hop, jump, duck and weave in their own den.  And he hit the batters physically at least 8 times.  All this while taking 6 wickets.

Bumrah and Shami have formed a formidable pair of quick and hostile fast bowlers ... who can intimidate the batters in almost every match.

Next in line hostile Indian fast bowlers are Avesh Khan and Shivam Mavi.  And both are picking lots of wickets this FC season.

Was a great spell but looking back, his below par first day spells were a huge factor in our loss. He bowls a brilliant spell almost every Test now but is not consistent enough to have a match winning impact which he is so well capable of.

He is good enough to be a sub-25 average bowler across formats but at times comes across as casual. With not more than 2-3 years of career left, can he get to 240-250 Test wickets (100 wickets in next 25 tests)?

It was a great spell, don't know about best ever but certainly up there. My issue with Shami is that while he has ability I'm not always sure that he has the brain required for test bowling. In fact, this is the key problem with most of our pacemen (except Bhuvi).

Excellent spell, especially when you consider ICF wanted him axed and said was rubbish

His best spell was when had cook on toast which english comms said was unluckiest spell they had seen.  Literally beat cook 4 times an over
