Well done Pant. He has overcome his mentor's achievements. He still needs some working on his keeping skills though. He can work on it by being an understudy to the best matchwinner in ODIs

Mentor???

I hope you don't mean msd:hysterical:

Msd is not his mentor....he is the person holding him back .

What do you expect a youngster to say? That Dhoni was done and should not play for India? Of course he'll praise his senior and at the same time shame him with his performance. If only this senior had some shame left, he would vacate the position for someone doing so well and deserving.

As for being a match winner, thank you to MSD, has played 300+ ODIs now, enough rewards for his stellar services. He was not missed for a single test after his retirement, first Saha and now Pant have set newer benchmarks. Same will happen in LOIs. ZERO impact on the team because he sucked in Tests for 2 years before moving out and now sucking since 2015 in LOIs, before his eventual retirement which should not be very far.

What will the guy say when he is asked....

He has to survive in the  dirty pond.

A dirty pond that Gavaskar and Shastri created and Sachin and Saurav swam in it.

Would you have the same criteria for Sachin as well. His chase for the 100th 100 was pathetic and so was when he got it in a match losing innings:facepalm:

Of course. Sachin should have retired right after 2011 WC. The last two years that he continued playing only damaged his reputation. And he got a lot of deserved criticism at that time.

Not to the same level as Dhoni is getting now but he is carrying on like Sachin

Reverse sweeping past the stumps

What a process :hatsoff:

Mahi bhai is such a powerful bast-man, that bowlers have to bowl 6th stump line. Because anything pitched on the stumps, will be expertly lunged to forward short leg.

This is confusing to say the least ... as far as I know, there are are no ICC ratings for wicketkeeping?!!??!

And Pant is a wicketkeeper!

I think it is the best ever rating as a batsman by an Indian keeper.
