But he does not know what to bowl and where to bowl- when will he learn the line and length to bowl. Suhaan, Mosher and express bowling 3

Speed without accuracy.

msb1991 Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 I used to be very interested in speed gun readings. Not as much these days. My finding was that it is only really good for judging the relative speed of bowlers in that match. Between matches and series is too variable.

It shows higher than normal. 1. Pandya has bowled a quickest of 147 kph in this IPL and not 148 kph. 2. That was a rare quicker delivery which looked really quick too. Usually, he is bowling 130 kph to 143 kph ... his usually speed range in international cricket. 3. Pandya bowled at 146 kph atleast two or three times earlier in international cricket. Known international bowlers like Bumrah, Steyn, Ishant, Bhuvi, Ferguson, Southee, Boult, Curran etc. are bowling at their usual speeds. Saini was bowling similar speeds to this IPL in domestic T20s when most other pacers had difficulty clocking high speeds. Trundlers like Unadkat, Tye, Sandeep, Chahar, Kaul, Stoinis, Paul etc. are all trundling as usual. Malinga is bowling a bit slower than normal. Only Rabada throughout and Shami in 2 matches, have bowled quicker than usual. And Shami is getting fitter by the day, so it is possible with him. I say method is different In Australia and NZ clock speed is always shown to be high. I remember Unadkat even in under 19 was bowling at 140k. He was so fragile.
