How many matches did he chase record? In odis he retired less than an year from WC win. In test he was still doing well. He had one really bad year when he retired and that record chase was for a couple of series, all of which we won. So how did he affect the team negatively?

Not to mention everyone from rohit to kohli have mentioned how playing with him groomed them. We saw.the opposite where west indies and Sri Lankan teams imploded because lara and sanga chose to leave on their personal highs even when youngsters needed guiding

Why continue to play ODIs post 2011? Was he expecting to play 2015 WC as a 42-43 year old? He didn't retire gracefully, he was gradually sidelined and later Sandeep Patil forced him to retire.

He was doing well, seriously? He sucked balls post 2010-11 RSA tour. Sure he had a few useless 50s in the Eng and Aus tours but apart from that? He sucked from Eng 2011 till November 2013. One of the main culprits behind our home series loss against England, was made to look like a pathetic joke.

Some series we won, despite Sachin and not because of him. We have won some ODIs recently despite Dhoni, can you make similar excuse for him?

WI and Lanka were already in decline when those 2 retired. Besides why make a case for these 2 players when there is 100+ years of cricket history. Youngsters needing guidance is an oft repeated cliche that needs to be discarded. Indian team still struggled badly in 2014, our batsmen were failing...so much for Sachin's grooming. Had he retired in 2011 or 2012 January, Indian cricket wouldn't have disintegrated. Bottomline is he stayed back not to groom/mentor nextgen but to selfishly chase trivial records. Make as many excuses as you want but truth is out before the world why he stayed back. Even our adoption of DRS got delayed in the tamasha.

Check who scored most runs in that worldcup and who took you to final. Thala after playing 3 worldcups is still around just 500 runs which sachin did in just one worldcup multiple times.

According to one of the statements by the SA officials, ABD was asked to play a couple of series in a bid to be eligible for the selections.  Instead, he chose to play PSL and BPL.  This paints a much worse situation for ABD.  If this is true, then if you're going to miss your selection criteria, you can't just come one day before the team WC is to be announced and say you're ready to play the WC.  It is highly unethical, breaks protocol, highly unfair to other players who had done the hard yards while ABD went missing, and more about  principle as quoted by the SA officials.

Meh it was statistically shown he had one if the fastest conversion rate fron 90s to 100 when the last time this topic was brought up (around 2010 if I recall). In order to successfully troll there should be at least some truth in the trolling

He continued as he clearly stated he didn't want to make the world cup win about him.

I think your point about DRS shows how desperate some people are to malign and lie about sachin. Sachin came out in support of drs way before he retired. Make as many excuses as you want but some people lie about sachin to make themselves feel better and deliberately take things out of context.  Your post is mostly a rant in that direction

Did sachin overstay? Yep he did. But not by much, he was in prime form till beginning of 2011 and played very few series after that, there was no way to see if he was having a resurgence without playing them in. But you know the truth just like his detractors knew the truth right from 2004. And he proved them wrong again and again and again. But guess the same people repeating the same bile for the 100th time must be correct because he didn't score well in the year he retired

Asshole is too strong a word but like a typical Saffer cricketer, he choked in handling his own exit. Just about a year before the world cup he quit and then, like a kid who wants more candy, he tried to plead his way back in. No player can resist the urge to be part of a world cup when he is still fit enough like AB but then he made his decision a year ago and has to stick by it. You don't take DRS within allowed time, no amount of crying can win you a 3rd ump referral. This is also similar. Even if were allowed back in, every single match there would be additional pressure on his team mates. Imagine if he were part of the team that lost to BD - SA would have become the laughing stock of the world. At such a late stage, he is a distraction inside the team or outside, like he is now. He put himself in a no-win situation and unnecessarily distracted the SA team.
