Looks like Malik won’t be back in the Pak team anymore for multiple reasons apart from cricketing aspect...

 

Once, India fans used to hate him for his match winning performances against India and also taking away Sania Mirza...

 

Might not even get a farewell match...

Yes, definitely end of the road for him. They didn't even consider him for the last world cup or the one before but this time they picked him. Maybe they brought him back hoping for some heroics in the world cup, especially against arch rivals India. This proves that experience is overrated. Time stands still for no one and even more so for sportsmen. Many former champion players looked like caricatures of themselves when they played for too long.

He might still feature in 2020 World Cup next year as that is where he excel more and that is how he made it to the ODI team back again after doing well there.

 

As far as 50 overs, he should be done for now.
