This is our 5th consecutive year that we have choked in a knockout match during an ICC event. Whats the point in sticking with Dhoni, Jadhav, Karthik, Rayudu, Raina and Yuvraj when we aren’t winning anything with them? Whats the harm in giving youngsters like Gill, Saini, Gopal, Pant, Agarwal etc. a consistent long run now? Fire Kohli from captaincy if he refuses to inject young cricketers into the Indian team. Makes me admire viru, srt, gambhir, ms even more. Kohli can get 50 hundreds in odi in meaningless bilateral versus Sri Lanka, he will never be great like others. Problem for us now is whether to persist with Rohit and Dhawan as openers for 2023 or to phase them out and go with youth.

But too many wholesale changes not ideal. Rohit and Shikhar will likely carry on till 2020 T20 WC. After that though, TM will have to make tough calls.

We know, India had only Eng, SA, NZ and Aus as tough opponents. Out of them, SA was playing worst cricket ever throughout. So the only good opponent we beat is Australia. How is this a good performance.
MK55 Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Desperately want to see Saini been given an opportunity right away. Our bowling unit right now is 70% Bumrah and 30% spinners. We shouldn't just restrict to Shami and BK. Also, this world cup has shown that it's mainly the express bowlers that are doing well. BK somehow seems to have created this death bowler reputation. It's a joke. Karthik has been a massive disappointment. He's only fit to play down the order for like 30 balls max. I remember Manjrekar making that comment. I think it's true LOL. Batting is massively dependent on Rohit and Kohli. Rahul is extremely inconsistent. I know it's strange but to be honest I don't see him improving. Lower order hitting is all Pandya at the moment. It's ridiculous. Have to try new guys.
