Suits everyone's agenda.

Make the other keepers look bad so this guy can continue .

Agree.. the money ( sponsorships)involved seems to be huge.. no wonder Kohli-Dhoni-shastri nexus is strongest.. Jadeja saved their ****.

Dont want other batting superstar to emerge... this is no longer a team game... it’s for top order to Amass meaninglessness odd runs and sponsorships and not allow anybody in middle order to thrive.. if the game has to evolve we should have larger boundaries and do away with power play after 20 overs and also 2 new ball rules.  The openers and 1 down have it too easy...

longing for Ganguly specific days.. though we did not win much, there was hunger and passion among players  in those days.. these guys are commercial artists.. care no hoots about cricket or fans...

You are the best player in the world, you have to bat at 3. Doubting yourself is bigger crime than doubting your team mates. Like I said, contradiction was all over the place.

But he did come out and bat at #3 after seeing the ball jagging around, troubling Rahul and dismissing Sharma.  Not understanding what the angst is all about.

Its that he was thinking about coming at 4. A top batsman should take responsibility, and him being captain, he should taken even more responsibility instead of trying to hide. He did come out, you are right, but just the thought is what angst people

Public is just full angry now because we lost the World Cup semi game, its a big loss, so naturally hearing other stuff like this will anger them more. Can't blame them. Anyways, not sure how true is the above article.

Regardlesss, Kohli needs to give up captaincy, and just play as a batsman in ODI's .

I don't know ... if the source is to be believed, it seems like someone brought it up and there was some chatter, but when the shyte hit the fan, VK walked out.

VK can be criticized for a lot of things - lack of tactical acumen, conservative team picks, over-reliance on Dhoni, potty-mouth etc., but his body of work over the years shows that he does not lack commitment or courage.  It's just people trying to pin every damn thing on him, even if the evidence is simply not there.

I can understand if he thinks that way post 2014 when he was clueless in England. But being one of the best player around and

after  conquering english conditions in 2018 , if you cannot stand up  in 2019  , who else can ?

Ha, if Vince had taken that catch off Anders Kohli would be avg in single digits that series as well :cantstop:

Don't get me wrong he deserves all the luck, however what are the chances that he can score like that in England ever again? He is such a boom/bust player that it's ridiculous, we've seen him plunder England in 2016 & then get demolished by Oz 3 months later!

what a wimp. If he had any guts, he would have opened (since he is the only Test regular in the top 4-5 who has played on challenging pitches in SENA) - he is not altogether new to opening - and shielded our weak middle order. Instead, he probably saw Lockie and Boult and screamed and ran the other way to 4. Perhaps he should have come at 8 and Jaddu at 3.
