Kids to lead Pakistan fast bowling in tests in Australia

Recommended Posts

Pakistan test squad for Australia

Tests: Azhar Ali (capt), Abid Ali, Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam, Haris Sohail, Imam-ul-Haq, Imran Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Kashif Bhatti, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Musa Khan, Nasim Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood, Yasir Shah

Naseem Shah is 16 ( born feb 2003 ) and Musa Khan and Shaheen Afrid both are 19.

Apparently PCB has decided , if we have to lose all the games even with oldies, why not throw in the youngsters.

We could see some careers come to a pre-mature end. Pakistani awaam is way too fickle and emotional, ultimately there is no way all the youngsters will come good. Naseem (if he is 16) doesn't seem like a genuine quick. Musa is too short, but bowls 140+. Shaheen is the only one that has any realistic chance of succeeding, but he is coming back from an illness.

OTOH, its a great opportunity for one of the youngsters to distinguish himself (someone has to take wickets after all) by oicking 5-fers for 150+ runs, at 30+ a piece.

For people who forgot how they looked like when they were 16 year old please refer to your school pics and other pics from that time .

I would recommend your class pics to identify the kid who looked the oldest in your class and compare them with the Pakistani “16” year olds.

You can easily tell if someone is actually 16 and they probably look a little older than the rest or if they are really 16:laugh:

Nadeem Shah looks quite impressive in Youtube videos.

Pace, bounce and outswing.

Let's see how he does and whether the videos are true reflections of his ability.

Pace and bounce is not going to trouble Aussies. You need clever bowlers with lots of experience.

Usually it is guys with experience who do well there. Anderson and Broad did well in patches. From India it has been Ishant,Shami in their 2nd/3rd tours or guys like Steyn,Morkel in their 2nd tours.

A young guy with pace and bounce but lack of experience won’t do much.

Also do Pakistanis play with dukes or kookaburra in domestics? Makes a huge difference.

Bumrah and Shami really troubled the Aussies with pace and bounce this time around.

And look at how Shami and Umesh troubled the SA batters with pace and bounce on Indian tracks.

But, more importantly, I think Misbah is trying to develop good fast bowlers for the future and giving these guys experience of SENA tours.

Bumrah was our best pacer on our last Aussie tour with just 6 tests under his belt at that time
