adi B Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 BJP will definitely form the government in haryana and rightfully so after having a 3pc increase in vote share and 8 pc higher vote share than Congress . 4 independent MLAs who were former BJP rebels have agreed to support khattar and return ,they'll certainly get 2 more MLAs velu 1
Lannister Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 So BJP has now failed to get majority in 3 states, including Karnataka. All flood-hit constituencies in MH have kicked out BJP. Karnataka will be next in the bypoll elections.

Karnataka will be next in the bypoll elections. A) BJP was single largest party in last Karnataka assembly election. Congress tried to form an unholy alliance with Rotlu Kumaraswamy and failed spectacularly. B ) In general election, people of Karnataka voted for BJP/Modi in a landslide. The only kick Kannadigas are giving and will continue to give is to the deshdrohi parties. You can whine though. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk Gollum 1

Thats not true at all. Several leaders who defected to bjp in haryana and maharashtra have won. Ganesh naik comes to mind in maharashtra. Where does this "all" come from?

After the disastrous Lok Sabha elections for the NCP, countless defections and most exit polls giving him 15-25 seats in the Vidhan Sabha , they still ended up with 54 seats. Credit where due. If anything this election has shown that people like Raj Thackeray and Owaisi are nobodies. They barely manage to get a handful of seats. Aside of nuisance value, they don't add much to the political spectrum. G_B_ 1

cowboysfan Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 how are these exit polls so wrong? you cant mess up exit polls in state elections so badly.

someone Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 14 minutes ago, cowboysfan said: how are these exit polls so wrong? you cant mess up exit polls in state elections so badly. Vote share to seats is hard. Axis got vote shares wrong but seats correct. In LS, it is relatively easier, whereas state elections more regional factors, local demographics comes into place. For example, BJP were never in real contention for 5-10 Seats in HN due to Muslim majority. And this election has again shown all this political debate, secularism are completely irrelevant once its Muslim majority places.
G_B_ Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 The exit polls did not take into account the drop in turnout from 76 to 66 which combined with the fact that the jat voters had come out in numbers. If Haryana would have matched the 76 percent of last time, it would be easily bjp 50 plus. Kinda feel sad for cvoter, is usually very conservative and usually predicts hung houses. But decided to really go for it and now are a laughing stock. If you notice axis took an extra day. Maybe these pollsters need to take their time and fully analyse their results. Maharashtra being a large state, once the trend was clear it was fine. It was only about margin from that point. Ls had added advantage of 1 month polling with only 7% of seats in the last stage. Smaller states given that small changes can result in large seat share fluctuations which might alter the result need deeper analysis. One trend os emerging. As a rule of thumb bjp needs an increase in turnout to do well. Gollum 1

Laaloo Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Looks like minority appeasement didn’t help BJP. Hopefully lessons learned.

If you notice , there was a 10pc drop in voting which largely dent the BJP, it's a fault of the local leaders and cadre to not galvanise the people on the ground . BJP actually had a 3pc increase in vote percent and that too when the voting was 10pc less ,that's not bad at all. Third , I think 7 independent MLAs were BJP rebels and had they fought from BJP they would have got at least 45 seats which would have been majority that too with an anti incumbency wave and that Jat protest saga. All in all BJP has not done badly but still have to focus on the ground issues state by state, every state has different issues ,for haryana it was primarily jobs and anti jat sentiment. JJP entering the fray in Haryana would have confused the pollsters. This holds especially true in assembly elections. That's why the next TN state elections will be fascinating to observe.
