I haven't added jadhav to this list because he is past and nothing to discuss about him....

 

Well, too early to expect these guyz to win matches while chasing ....but atleast they could have stayed with kohli and understand the art....

Iyer played a gem 4 months back in POS and took pressure of Virat in a chase. May be you slept through that innings. Iyer was due a failure. I am more concerned about Pant.

Pant did not throw his wicket away today. He got out to the same shot Kohli did, with the ball sticking in the surface. Did Kohli also throw his wicket away?

Iyer is OK under pressure. Pant is hit and miss. Too often the bat is turning in his hand or he is reaching for deliveries way outside the off stump. But Pant is also a keeper, he isn't a pure batsman. So the only thing critical for his role is to have a power hitting game and ability to handle pressure.

Ergo, he should also be able to keep. He is (or should be) a keeper-batsman or a batsman-keeper for eff's sake, not a batsman-long stop.
