Vickydev Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Seeing the treatment Pant got in the T20 series, there is no way he will be starting in the ODI series. Mayank will open in ODIs i think, Rahul in MO. Good opportunity for Shaw to reclaim his test opener spot.

I am even ok if Rahul opens, but please don't shamelessly change his place again when Dhawan gets back.Dhawan has been good but he has not attained that stature in Indian cricket where team has to sacrifice careers of other people based in his unpredictable availability.

Sandeep99 Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 It will be a travesty if Rahul is asked to open again to accommodate Pandey. But I'm sure the brainless brat thinks in that way. Ideally Shaw should open with Mayank/Gill and Rahul should be at 4/5. His stroke play down the order is the need of the hour for India.

Rohit's injury should also wake up the TM on its 2023 WC plan. Carrying too many 35+ players to a WC isn't going to end well
