Sorry to be a killjoy... but what actually is the purpose of a statistical analysis to this extent on legends who have already retired? They have already scored runs and accumulated them to be labelled as a past legend.

 

imo people have a lot of spare time on their hands.. the focus should be on how well current batsmen are doing and are they/not scoring runs? Are they helping their team win crucial matches?

@Ankit_sharma03 Thanks for the link. Went through it. Ponting's peak is well covered but also no mention of the fact that he dropped from near 60 (at end of 2006 ashes) to 51(A 8 point drop) that should have been highlighted. My view on ponting is he was batting well as long as the team was doing well. It took a nosedive after warne/mcgrath/langer/martyn retirement. Some batsmen are only good as the team they played with.

 

Also Found it bizarre that there was no mention of dravid's lean run in SA and Aus. Have not personally followed Younis Khan or sanga, so no comments on them. Certainly disappointed not to see Steve Waugh included in this analysis. My batting holy trinity would be Steve-Lara-Tendulkar.
