Place Faf and Pollard at long off and long on and see 30 runs saved and 4 catches taken every match.. Unfortunately, they play for different teams

For all those hating on Pollard, this is exactly what he can do.

Handy bowler who takes crucial wickets

And he gives it all while fielding

And he can score big. Quickly at that.

Most valuable player for :mi:

RR are in the process of mentally messing him up and risking another Unmukt Chand.

You do not keep benching a young kid after random one off chances.  Especially if you are asking him to open.  That's a high pressure high responsibility role, and then you yank him after a couple of failures? All you are doing is attacking his self-belief.  Either you believe in his ability enough to have him open, and in that case, you give him at least 4 games in a row in that slot. Or you don't, and you deploy him differently.

While I agree with you as a fan but unfortunately franchisees have to look at winning. This is a business after all. They will put their interests above grooming youngsters.

pollard is lucky that only his side has the best pacers in the tournament.. only delhi and mumbai have a good attack.. rest sides mostly have trundlers + spin based attack.

Said this many times before here. He and Malinga are the single biggest reasons behind their 4 titles.

Sorry, but its in the team's interest to get most value out of the players they have paid for.  You are mixing 2 separate things - accountability is fine, haphazard inconsistency in assigning roles is not.  If its a "business" then the person to be held "accountable" is the moron in charge of making those decisions that do not put players in position that increase their probability of success.

This is not to say that Jaiswal deserves x number of games - maybe he doesn't.  But if you are going to have him open, then stick with him in that slot for a few games. Even a shithouse like Dotball D'arcy Short was given an extended run by an IPL team.

:dc:to layeth the smackdown on evil Bambis.

I don't get the popular culture reference here.

But DC haven't played any good team(s) ( read :mi:: ) so far.

Beating hapless sides like KxiP is not an indication of strength of the team.

At the Wankhede, after Sachin, the loudest cheer is always for Pollard.

Not Rohit Sharma. Not Pandya. Not Bhajji when he was there.

:mi: won comprehensively on my match thread.

I have attended two games at the Wankhede where MI lost to RR. And one at Sawai Mansingh stadium where also MI lost ( actually I don't clearly remember).

Exoneration of sorts, for me.
