No intent or able to take it deep. Took over from VC Rahane but no noticeable difference or improvement. SK_IH Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Minting dollars for being ordinary. Great batsman for other formats but not T20 FFS. Rajasthan making him the captain was self inflicted damage. Royals should look at Samson as a captaincy option for next year, might help Samson as well.

An underwhelming season this time, 311 runs, avg 26, SR 131 but overall his numbers are good SS 35+ avg, 129 SR, 1 100...Ben Stokes avg 26, SR 135 and is hailed as a God here But understandable that some of our fans will be bitter after all the maulings he has given us in tests and big matches He isn't a Gayle/ABDV level batsman but flop, disaster, seriously? Those are words best used to describe someone like Maxwell.

Played well in that Tewatia match and 1-2 decent innings, that's it. He is a beast in test cricket but in T20 he is not a batsman the opposition worry about too much. An Indian captain would have been roasted for dragging the team down despite having decent talent but Smithy gets a free pass thanks to his reputation. To me, the worst of the lot is Maxi, who is still coasting by on his 2014 exploits. His mental illness or fatigue or whatever it was, magically vanished when the IPL auction started. For that reason alone, he has to be the biggest fraud. Teams should stop hiring established international players and instead, look for talented Saf'ers like Nortje who have hunger and motivation to do well as their country is a mess and IPL money is a life changer for them.

Take AB out cheaply and the match is as good as lost for RCB.

Anyway I am not saying he is good in this format, just that doesn't deserve harsh tags like flop or dreadful. Who else was in that squad to replace him? Tye, Thomas, Miller, Tom Curran...SS better than all of them.

Tibarn Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 He can play in the IPL, although he is not a world-beater, but he is not worth the money he is paid, 12.5 cr, and he shouldn't be the captain of the side. The Royals have weak bowling and would've been better off with another overseas fast bowler playing in the side.
