Let them intensify their protests- Shaheen Bhag 2: when the public themselves will get inconvenienced, there will a backlash at the local elections which will only benefit BJP. Thats why Modi is bindass in all of this, they are playing into BJPs hands every few months by promoting agitations and protests.

If you are talented or tax-payer with some savings, you should really look to leave the country. Here, you are not respected, nor protected nor rewarded.

The basic rule of law keeps failing, and a monopoly of some vested interest  groups.  Its sad situation now and will get worse in future.

The template is set and future is trapped...

Everytime there is a protest in country we learn exact same pattern. Gosh :wall:

Anyone supporting protest wants to comment on these numbers. Are the numbers legit?

It is coming from non-Godi media, IndiaToday and even Rajdeep quoted it.  P/H farmers are richer mainly by growing low-quality staple crops and getting paid MSP and FCI is hoarding it for PDS (ration) and wasting 40% of it.

Darshan Pal the President of KKU , coordinating all protests and rejecting the government offer of amendments to laws, is the founding member of Maoist organization PDFI. Along with co-founder Vara Vara Rao, who is now arrested and Farmer protests are demanding his release. If they block roads, get Para-Military forces, BJP is too soft, esp the agro minister, going around like a softee icecream

Over the decades, I've followed the writings of late Sharad Joshi and supported Shetkari Sanghatan.  Here is their take on the protests:

https://indianexpress.com/article/india/bharat-bandh-today-shetkari-sanghatana-says-wont-take-part-will-oppose-any-move-to-roll-back-laws-7095764/

Quote

Anil Ghanwat, president of the union, told The Indian Express that not only will they not be participating in the nationwide strike but will also oppose any move to roll back the three farm laws.

Since the last few days, thousands of farmers mainly from Punjab and Haryana have been protesting at the borders of New Delhi, demanding a complete rollback of the new farm laws. Repeated rounds of talk with the central government have failed to bring any solution, with farmer leaders slated to meet the government again on Wednesday. The Bharat Bandh called by the farmers has been supported by all major Opposition parties, trade unions as well as farmer bodies.

Ghanwat, however, said the present laws aim to allow the farmers access to free market, which was denied so far. “For farmers in Maharashtra, this freedom would mean better prices. Also, the competition would ensure better price discovery,” he said.

@FischerTal thanks for the podcast, I thought it was particularly educational to all. It is more pertinent to this thread to know from somebody on the ground in Haryana with no vested interests. 15% farmers are rich zamindars in P&H, they and the middlemen intermediators will lose some of their monopoly are certainly funding the politicians, media as protests are mainly from P&H

So Punjabi farmers are not just figting for themselves, but also fighting for other farmers now so the other farmers are not left behind. Whats wrong with that. All farmers deserve same laws and treatment.

Isn’t it good that nation’s farmers be given the respect they deserve. Since issues have been raised, government can’t get away with just making Punjabis happy to stop this. Now all farmers are united.

Also Modi commited to swaminathan report. Want to know how that can be defended.
