Why do you demote someone who was doing well recently?

 

Rohit and Dhawan (a L-R pair) are established ODI openers. Legends in thier own right. No need to fix something which isn't broken. 

 

On the other hand our middle order sucks big time. So it's better for Rahul (& the team) to have a garunteed spot in the middle order instead of just being a backup opener.

This 60 odd wasn't a good innings but not bcoz of str rate. He should have played longer, str rate is justified bcoz there was a collapse happening on the other side. According to me this isn't a useless innings. 

Secondly Babar Azam isn't good at power hitting but atleast he can strike at run a ball, what is Rahul doing? 

A 50(45) from rahul  would have helped us. Also i am damn sure that if babar had the likes of dhawan, Rohit, kohli above him he would play more freely.

Thakur is so underrated on this forum. He is the first name on selector list of first bencher cricketer he always end up playing one or the other format. Talent is so much that he is the first choice of bench strength irrespective of format. He needs a dedicated thread on front page like Thakur fan club/ Anti fan club.

Their time is up, one or both should not feature in the next two marquee events at home. It's not like they've raised their games in crucial KO games either & their fitness is dodgy to say the least!

Unfortunately Gobar azam has to make do with his countrymen. As you know, we don’t allow those ppl to enter our country anymore. Rahul failed so did everyone else. Doesn’t make him any lesser. Under lolli everyone will fail. What’s your point? Rahul isn’t even a no.5, he’s an opener.

If Rahul is an opener then he needs to outperform Dhawan and Rohit in order to earn a spot as an opener.We saw how he played in world cup,dhawan aged 33 is still a better batsman than Rahul at his peak. (odis)
