• already made a thread how jaddu works when he has time
• Also this adds a leftie in between , our order needs to look MI n ENG who has a mix of leftie n right
• A leftie in middle will help pandya n rahul both
• Ideally this shud leftie shud have been pant but then he can be tried at open

Yes Jadeja @5 is ideal, provided the consistency. At the moment, he is still playing as a bowler who is expected to bat lower down. Let's see his mindset & approach once he becomes a batsman who is expected to ball.

Dont play Jaddu at 5. Pandya at 5 followed by Jadeja is much much better.

So Jaddu hits in couple of innings all of sudden he is a must in every team. Most ICFers were against him being in the team itself. Now he has bat at number 5, wonderful analysis by useless Gambhir. He is number 7 and has to stay put there only.

pandya is not doubt a better batsman but having a leftie in between is better for overall combination

 

Look at MI n England their is a perfect mix of righty and leftie , our problem is one is at top other bottom, u need to do something to disturb bowlers and opp captain

 Samson needs to be given enough chances to win the number 4, then it is between Iyer/Pandey/SKY for number 5.

No, in ODIs, we will struggle to chase 300+ if Jadeja bats at 5, Pandya at 6 & probably Axar or Krunal or Sundar at 7. It can work in T20s though as only 20 overs game is there. So, we can afford to have extra bowling option.

 

Iyer or Pandey will not give us anything extra in T20 which Jaddu can't give at no.5.

It's fine making use of his hot form now, but what use will it be in getting the team prepared for WC which is three years away. This stop gap arrangement will mean that proper batsmen who deserve a run in side will be further denied chances. It will be same story of no.4 position that we had last WC.

 

With Rohit and Dhawan at fag end of career and Pandya being injury prone where will our backups or replacements come from?

 

It is useless us winning a couple of Bilaterals if we keep faltering in ICC tournaments.

Agreed, T20s especially with World T20 coming in few months these stop gap solutions can work, but not ODIs.

No, if he is made to bat at 5, he will try to bat like a 'proper' batsman ala Dhoni in his later days, and then you regular scores of 30(40) from him. Current position is perfect for him, making sure whenever he comes out to bat, he has no option but hit out.

For ODIs, what we have now is fine. 

Iyer should be given an extended run at 4, Rahul bats at 5 till the time he is keeping, Pandya and Jadeja at 6,7

 

Changes needed are in the top of the order.. Dhawan needs to be phased out and Gill/Mayank/Shaw need to be rotated along with Rohit when he is back.
