After India lost the first Test on Tuesday, Kohli was asked about the reasons behind not playing Kuldeep in the first Test. Speaking about the same, the India skipper insisted that he does not regret the decision.

"Not really, not at all. When you playing two off-spinners, Kuldeep becomes more or less same kind of spinner taking the ball away," Kohli said at the press conference.

"We were quite clear on what we wanted to play, what combination we wanted to play. There are no regrets whatsoever on that decision. Moving forward, we will think of combinations, which brings us variety as a bowling attack," he added.

"And not one dimensional, turning away from the bat. These things are very important to bat," Kohli further said.

Someone needs to give him a tight slap for this..  Kuldeep is not a off spinner & he is not like his buddy Chahal who doesn't have a googly. 

Kuldeep's googly takes the ball away from RHB since he is a left arm wristie. 

Man how the hell this guy became Captain & more than that have such a good record as a batsman if he doesn't have common sense.  No wonder he got fooled & played by Bollywood.  I pity him seriously

whats worse? a batsmen who doesn't know the difference between a chinaman bowler & off spinner is our best batsman or that he is our captain?

Obviously having such a guy as our captain is the worse. As a batsman, even if he is unable to differentiate but knows how to deal with similar/different bowlers it's his problem alone. But as a dumb captain, it affects team selection, strategies, bowling changes, field placements and can drag the team down.

 

Now we know why such outrightly ridiculous decisions have been derailing our team. No wonder he thought Vijay Shankar will win him the WC
