There are some people here with agenda against him. 

In his short 12 odis career he has won 2 matches for India. One with Bat one with Bowl.

Shardul is a better hitter than the specialists batting bozos. This is a crap batting lineup with the most selfish attitude and lack of power to whack the ball even if they wanted to.

But but but he isn't the problem coz he HELD the innings from other end. So, basically hard hitting should be done by others & instead of 85(45) ala Roy, Buttler, Morgan or Warner we have to contend with 85(61). Not discounting other maharathis like Dhawan, Iyer, Samson, KL etc. either for their poor show.

he has been a very important bowler for India. Underrated because ever since he started bowling tight  overs in the PP, India started this  winning streak  in T20. I am not saying he is the only reason but he has been an important part. Needs to improve his batting though but not a power hitter, more of a timer.

Yes he can also bowl 140 and smack just like Pandya who is the better batsman, Thakur the better bowler.

He is good to face one over and score 10 or 15 off it. Bowls well for white ball too.

That he is a flash in the pan type player is well known. The hope was that he would overcome this flaw. He needs to be backed for 1 more series at-least before being discarded. Today's match was a great opportunity for him to make an impact and he blew it. Very disappointing to see him fail to get a couple of big hits against the spinners.

kohli 85 off 61 roughly equals 170 off 120 chasing 185+ .... a single batsman should not waste half the overs scoring at less than RRR

Exactly just don't consider him as ur main bowler and he can do a good job like many in England team ml.
