That's why Perth 2008 is still a GOAT test win..  No Asian team has won a Test at Perth other than that team.  Same goes for Brisbane which is even tougher than Perth as not only Asian but all teams struggle there...  32 years have passed but no one has breached the GABBA fortress.  Currently our bowling line up is inferior to that of Aussie line up due to injuries.  Ashwin is having his finest overseas campaign & that's why we are competing well.   Aussies love playing at Gabba so it will be a massive advantage to them but if we win at Sydney then it becomes 50-50 coz then they'll be under the pump to deliver.

Nobody in Queensland wears a mask. And thats with no lockdown for months, because there is 0 covid in Queensland. Because of being anal about borders. If they suddenly 180 on that and give sports players special privileges that's going to be a talking point for years. If it even looks like it might have brought a covid case that will destroy the credibility and career of whoever did it.

They are rightly obsessed with ensuring zero cases. Public health should be the top priority. Sporting events can wait.

 

Will be ironical and unfair to see crowds attend the Gabba test but players being asked to follow very strict covid rules.

O COVID cases so far is brilliant .... therefore the focus is rightly on the virus not entering the territory as 1 case can lead to multiple exponentially .... the least outsiders can do is respect how the state is able to remain COVID free and obey the protocols so that they do not create havoc by accidentally bringing in the virus

Down Under has been brilliant with managing the pandemic .... When most of the world is constrained with lockdowns, restrictions, and other precautionary measures (like not more than 2 in an elevator), it would mean something to walk down the streets of Brisbane normally without worrying about the pandemic (Here I see many ppl even at midnight with no one around wearing masks) 

 

Subcon is relatively relaxed when it comes to observing laws. At times, the more popular you are, the more willing the society is to make exceptions for you for not following the laws (Salman Khan for e.g. will be supported by many even if he runs down nobodies (as if they are not humans) on the road or kills the protected blackbuck (it is just an animal)
 

I do not think it is a good idea to be inviting teams from subcon in the first place (because many of them just don’t get it). They are among the least likely to be following laws/protocols esp. when no one is watching (and even if they break protocols, the boards could try to fight for the players unnecessarily rather than asking them to adhere to and respect the laws/protocols)

thats the thing though, its completely fine for the crowd because Queensland itself is the bubble. It was all of Australia until recently and hopefully will be in a couple of weeks again.  I'm in Brisbane, there is no lockdown. Life is normal except that if you eat out or go to a pub you need to sign in with your phone. I walked around south bank on the weekend which was packed, I went to a 70 person new years party. Thats only possible if there aren't exceptions on the borders. For example i had to cancel a christmas trip to Sydney.

And similarly when the border was hard shut there was ridiculous amounts of pressure from the federal government and NSW state government to open it. It's not a personal thing against india in the slightest. There was a massive uproar when some celebrity bought and staffed a penthouse somewhere at their own expense to lockdown in.

Its not ironical as the crowd are not crossing borders or coming from states which have COVID cases, while are players are coming from places with COVID

I have been reading about QLD Govt struggling to ensure people coming from outsude are tested quickly. There are reports of people being in queues for 6-8 hours. That's atrocious. Their focus should be on managing that and not on a sporting event.
