I don't have to "look up the scores" I watched it live - Jadeja, Umesh, KL, PP, Nair, Jayant had a major impact that series at different times & Kohli was at his peak. Right now Eng is also a better team than back then. If you think we'll just walk right past them, especially with Jadeja, Shami, Umesh missing - then you're living in cuckooland

Who said walk over ? The idea was comebacks are possible after a sluggish start, which should answer the question you posted.

each and every one of those names are replaceable. in fact, some of them can be upgraded in this series

why does names matter? wickets and runs will win us the matches, not names. Bumrah and Siraj will be upgrades to Shami and Umesh 

 

Jadeja is the only tricky miss, as he is essentially two players.. Sundar's batting is competent enough, but bowling isn't as potent. Maybe if Kuldeep walks in for nadeem and thakur is taken as third seemer at Ahmedabad in place of Sundar.. its not straight forward replacement, but it can be done. Plus Pant's batting is much better than Saha so even a weaker no.7 batsman won't be missed if India decides to got with no allrounder
