It depends on how he is used as a bolwer,if the pitch spins would want to see him bowling with the newish ball rather than as a last resort

Need to get them out for less than 250 here. Just bunt the new ball. Even if we're 80-5 in 30 overs, Sundar, Pant, Axar and Ashwin are capable of taking the team over 200.

trying to match england for their batting depth isn't such a bad move imo, they get decent scores mainly because of their lower order bailing them out time and again. I would have preferred Pandya but he doesn't have much match fitness and probably can't be trusted to bowl 10 overs in a day in which case Sundar's selection makes sense.

I can see a bright sunny hot afternoon outside my window 15 KM away from the stadium in Gandhinagar. Current temp at 34 (feels like 37-38), will peak at 36 in an hour or two. Huge security arrangements and really long queues. Decided to skip the first session, may go later for the last session of the day.
