Must be mentioned that Zimbabwe performed well in 2000 series. They lost, but they were fighters. I have always had huge respect for the Zimbabwe team of 90's and early 2000.

2000. South Africa 2-0. Led to Ganguly becoming the captain after Sachin resigned. Boucher played wonderfully.

2008 Motera against South Africa lol. How can we forget India bowled out for 76 in 20 overs. Lowest in terms of overs faced for Indi still in their history. We faced more overs in Adelaide.

the first match was remembered for Sehwags 319. Next match Steyns bowling and last match masterclass in batting against spin in crumbling wicket by Ganguly and Laxman. Still consider that 87 by Ganguly his best innings. If England played on that pitch of Kanpur they wouldn’t cross 50!!

What happened in the 76 all out. I totally forgot. Steyn ripped through us I remember but what exactly happened. We just played bad or ?

Did we not create a flatter wicket?

I heard some allegations about reverse swinging early. Just want to clarify.

Steyn was unplayable. So was Ntini and Morkel ( to me in prime this was the best attack ever if you include Kallis)  Batsmen couldn’t defend nor could hit out. Early mornning seam swing .. masterclass in everything

Steyn :5/23

Ntini: 3/18

Morkel: 2/21

Pathan scored a 17 ball 21. Higest score for india. India were 56/8 at one Stage.

Lol no reverse swing. Ball was new. We only played 20 overs. Conventional swing and masterclass in seam bowling from Morkel Ntini.

2 Innings defeat at home for India in last 35 years. Motera 2008 and Nagpur 2010. Both against South Africa. In both India came back from 1-0 to draw the series.

They probably rwlaized oh **** if there is grass Steyn is deadly. Flat Pattas next game haha. Beat them on flatties with a Bit of help for spin.

Prime Umesh and Shami vs Steyn in Indian conditions would be beautiful to watch.

Umesh and Shami are as deadly as that duo of Morkel and Steyn.

To beat india in india u need a few things

A- fast spinners . England has Monty

b - tall hit deck bowlers with pitch - Nagpur and bangalore we are prone to loose due to the tall factor ( kasrowicz and steyn - steyn more due to being the best )

c- poor indian batting - has been happening very frequently of late mainly due to Rahane being in middle order . With pant in and Jadeja amd ashwin cushioning , it’s impact not being realized but the first test was lost against England due to Rahane getting out on a full toss. Worse spin player I have seen play for india

d - champion padosi . Saqlain won pak the series and well deserved . Less likely to happen

but looking at our bowling , esp till ashwin is around , visiting team will find it hard to breach . And if they do breach , they need to come prepared for dust bowls . We will keep on producing a sehwag or sharma or shaw ( yes he will be back )

The bigger question is how/when do we start to have a more balanced record ... At what point do we feel comfortable with creating cricketers who can deliver in most conditions ... Most key cricketing countries have relatively more commonalities wrt playing conditions

Sachin had resigned before the SA series. More to do with fixer Azhar being recalled to the team for the series vs SA. Coach Kapil Dev had skipped the selection committee meeting for that SA series as well.

Such painful days as an Indian fan. Jayawant Lele mocking his own team, 0-3 surrender in Australia, Azhar coming back

On top of this domination there have hardly been any close games.. only that laxman/ishant mohali test comes to mind..

Without DRS, or even Axar/Jadeja against righties? You're exaggerating
