4th test Ahmedabad, Mar 4-8 India vs England , WTC Final KO for India Match thread

Probably the worst batting performance in the last 20 years.

Playing at home

Flat pitch with nothing in it

Limited and demoralised Eng bowling

Still found shocking ways to get out

Heads need to roll

I will drop him too, but kept him at 4 knowing our culture with captain. He is undroppable until he retires. Ideally our 3,4,5 should all go... And get replaced by young guns.

Has there ever been so shambolic batting performance by our batters at home, all those experts plagued with colonial mindset and still living in 2000 era commenting about Ashwin-Akshar and DRS benefits and all should actually call out our batting and compare how our ex-batsmen would have fared against this England attack..

Don't think its a conspiracy, its just a trope build up over a reputation over decades previously.

E.g. People assume Indians are good batsmen and good players of spin, Pakistan have good fast bowlers, Sri Lanka have mystery spinners

Our current batsman are living off a reputation built by legends before them vs spin

Thoroughly England's session. The next session I expect us to fold for about 180 in the first half hour and England will close the day at 60-2. We lost the match in the 1st session today. Such poor batting and we have our maharadhis 3,4,5 to blame for the exit from WTC.

Man why are you so pessimistic all the time? :antijinx:

Cricbuzz: India at tea won't find the tea any sweet for sure. And that is because the batting has left a sour taste. They have been abysmal to say the least.

Finally someone has the guts to call it out

This seems to be spiciest pitch of the series. Seam, swing, variable bounce sharp spin - everything there.

The fear that Eng will out bat us on normal spinning pitches is the whole reason why we are producing such doubt edged tracks. Each of these three tests could have gone totally against us

What a pathetic player Kohli has become, I think he is done as a player.

Kohli himself agrees. What more does BCCI want. Suck the useless twit from captaincy.

Getting almost bowled out under 200 by 2 and a half bowlers from opposition team on a flat day 2 pitch.

Timidity started with Pujara and Rohit scoring 40 runs off 25 freaking overs...

They just layed down entire 1st session, daring Eng to mount them... It was only a matter of time until Eng mounts, now receiving proper shots.

See nobody gets free pass forever, if he stinks in next series in England , he might be done both as a player and captain.

If one of the top order scored a 50 in addition to Hitman 49, India would be well in front.

When you have walking wickets like Kohli, Gill and Rahane coupled with Puj who doesnt score, credit to India for even getting close to England.

In this series, India has played basically two batsmen and two bowlers. That leaves 7 useless players in this team. Its damning.

Even in the best case scenario we are not getting a lead more than 30.

So in most likelihood we are going to loose this unless England implode for something under 100 in the second innings.

Shambolic.

My guess - only that much - is both the big series win hangover and the amount of time some of these players have been in a bubble is affecting them. I hope that is the case. Ashwin mentioned it in hia interview. If you're mentally not at the races these kind of random dismissals will happen.
