Stokes is a such a valuable asset . We Scottish support England in NOTHING plus with my Indian connections I am even more an Indian supporter But your cricket question , I really don't know how they are using him , the whole test team selections are baffling no not baffling defy logic .

Majestic Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 A terrific terrific cricketer and he is proving it again. The thread isn't doing well for us.
chewy Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 Stokes single handedly trying end India's journey to WTC final I guess Stokes read this thread Clarke 1
sage Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 Incredibly predictable the moment this thread was made
RAZPOR Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 He brings the power of umpire's call ,sponsored by miya menon.
Gambit Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 Irresistible player who can turn any game any time like he is doing here with bat and/or ball. Remember at Headingley even before the 135*, he bowled a tremendous spell in that game which kept Australia from scoring more.

Everyone calls out for Rahane's head. How does Stokes bring more value than someone like Rahane. Compare this series Rahane - 1 crucial partnership when he scored 66. Stokes - 1 inning of 55 and 2 wickets. Rahane must be dropped, Stokes is amazing. Performance in Australia. Rahane - 112 when India was at lowest, won the game. 2 centuries over, 2 great innings. Stokes - 1 century when match/series was lost, 1 5-fer in dead rubber. Verdict - Rahane is usleless, mediocre. Stokes is great. RAZPOR and Clarke 1 1
Trichromatic Posted March 5, 2021 Author Posted March 5, 2021 It seems this is kinda trend with allrounders. We see only clutch performances and ignore incosistencies. With specialist we count failures and ignore ocassional performances. sage 1

All he has been called is Ashwins bunny. Frustrated 1
Trichromatic Posted March 5, 2021 Author Posted March 5, 2021 To add more to it. Rahane averages 44 away from home with 8 centuries. Stokes averages 36 with 4 centuries and 2 five wicket hauls in 39 matches. Does wicket of Stokes worth 8 point of batting difference that Rahane brings? Rahane is hardly considered great player, but Stokes is considered gold in tests.

Stokes's avg is 38 to Rahane 41 plus he brings his bowling to the equation. When a specalist batsmen is averaging 42 ,you are questioning Stokes. His place is odis is unquestioned. He is the best allrounder in the world and would walk into any team. Frustrated and Tattieboy 1 1

Also, Rahane has inflated hai away average by bashing Windies and Bangladesh. His SENA stats remain mediocre. As batsman, Stokes = Rahane As bowler, Stokes >> Rahane As fielder, Stokes > Rahane. Overall, Stokes is elite test all-rounder while Rahane is just a decent batsman. Edited March 5, 2021 by Majestic

Now you want to make end to end conclusions based on the preferred zone of Rahane not that he's good at it while being nowhere near Stokes in home conditions.
