Charity begins at home. Use that natural ability and give him opportunities to bat higher up in T20Is. And before going to ask DK, maybe ask Kohli to use him properly at RCB.

Shastri is spot on Sundar should go back to domestic cricket and start batting in top order. Then he could become number 6 for the test team. He is not a top order batsman in any shorter formats.

His future is more in test cricket than in any other format.He should aim in becoming a top 6 batsman with his ability to bowl he will become a huge asset.

Someone should ask Coach Motormouth, if Sundar has so much natural ability, why was he dropped for the 3rd test and why has he never batted up the order in T20Is?

Jadeja is only 33. He'll play for another 4-5 years easily. They should be grooming sundar for no.5

Lol Dude is better than the oldies current hogging spots in national team.  He shouldn't rot in domestics at least not right now when he hasn't done anything to get dropped.  At least take him to India A when you tour England..  Or in extended squad.

he should play as many games as possible. period. you can be sure that this TM will not give him enough chances in int'l cricket right away because they will not kick out chepu/rahane/kohli. so, the next best thing from a pragmatic (not ideal) standpoint is to play as much cricket at lower levels.

Even Ashwin said the same thing Shastri did - that in red ball cricket Sundar should open or play no.3. We also heard that he hadn’t played a first class game since 2017. That being the case, either TN has a lot of talent or they overlooked something. I don’t know how good our states are in spotting and developing talent. That has got to be tough too.

point 1: he has already scored 1 150+ score in Ranji. it's not his fault that DK and Tamil Nadu did his best to marginalize his talent.

 

point 2: he was never given a consistent run in List A and domestic T20s at the top of the order. so, we don't really know what he is capable of in shorter formats. He is a much better version of hafeez and shoaib malik, and both these guys had pretty decent ODI/T20 careers.

He is staying not out in the 80s and 90s. And has a 150+ in Ranji as an opener.

what I heard on the grapevine was that there were some politics involved, and that he was not given enough chances deliberately.

that's what I wrote above too. he can bowl quite well too - took 10-fer with some classical bowling, which I saw.

Wasim Akram had 252 has highest test score and Jadeja has three triple hundreds. what is your point. Scoring a single hundred does not make Sundar a top order batsman.

 

Steve Smith went to back to domestic cricket to score big runs to convert from bits and pieces player to a batsman.

 

 

He will get his chances in IPL and it is upto to him to prove he has ability to use long handle . I don’t think he has ability to score at 150 plus SR .I would be happy to be proven wrong.

He means he should grind his youth in domestics and come faded in national side so that clown has one more jewel added to his crown

This is absolute buffoonery to release him when he has  slowly started to perform in world stage against top opponents,he has already played on A tours ,

Is there anything else he needs to prove now ?Our batting sucks because of the regulars and Kaptaan is already witnessing alarming decline
